About 1Password

At 1Password, we’re building the foundation for a safe, productive digital future. Our mission is to unleash employee productivity without compromising security by ensuring every identity is authentic, every application sign-in is secure, and every device is trusted. We innovated the market-leading enterprise password manager and pioneered Extended Access Management, a new cybersecurity category built for the way people and AI agents work today. As one of the most loved brands in cybersecurity, we take a human-centric approach in everything from product strategy to user experience. Over 175,000 businesses and millions of people trust us to provide seamless, secure access to their most critical information.

If you're excited about the opportunity to contribute to the digital safety of millions, to work alongside a team of curious, driven individuals, and to solve hard problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, then we want to hear from you. Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future.

As a Technical Marketing Manager, you’ll be a critical link between Product, Marketing, and Sales—helping bring 1Password’s Extended Access Management solutions to life through technical storytelling, engaging demos, and market insights. You’ll identify real customer challenges, create technical content that resonates with practitioners and decision-makers, and support our go-to-market efforts with compelling demos, proof-of-concepts, and enablement materials.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and communication, someone who can dig into technical details but also explain the “why it matters” in a way that drives adoption and differentiation. You’ll support technical partnerships, help shape reference architectures, and play an important role in our competitive and win/loss analysis efforts. Your work will empower our field teams, influence product development, and elevate 1Password’s voice in the market.

This is a remote position available to candidates located in the US or Canada.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience: 4 years of Technical Marketing, Sales Engineering, Product Management, Product Marketing or related experience. Bachelor or Master Degree in Technology, Marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Technical curiosity: A strong grasp of cybersecurity, identity and access management, authentication flows, or cloud environments. Familiarity with tools like Okta, Azure AD, AWS, or MDM solutions is a plus.

  • Customer knowledge: Ability to identify customer use-cases and translate them into compelling technical content, and demos.

  • Communication skills: Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate sophisticated technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • GTM mindset: Experience collaborating with GTM teams, contributing to enablement, and translating product features into value propositions.

  • Technical Content: Background in developing detailed technical collateral preferably with a security and identity focus

  • Growth potential: You're motivated by learning and growing in a fast-paced environment with a chance to take on more responsibility over time.

What you can expect:

  • Impactful Work: Co-develop launch and adoption strategies for identity, authentication, and user access security solutions, empowering organizations to stay secure.

  • Innovative Environment: Join a team that values creativity, collaboration, and a growth mindset.

  • Growth Opportunities: Be part of a fast-growing company in an exciting market, taking on impactful projects that will accelerate your growth and expand your skill set.

  • Identify and solve problems: Collaborate with Sales Engineers, PMs, and customers to identify technical friction points and turn them into compelling demos and solution narratives.

  • Create impactful content: Develop technical marketing materials such as demo scripts, proof-of-concepts, workshops, one-pagers, and videos that highlight 1Password’s security and access capabilities.

  • Support GTM teams: Partner with Product Marketing and Enablement to equip the field with technical assets that help close deals and accelerate adoption.

  • Create delightful demo experiences: Craft and build product experiences and demos that highlight integrated use cases across our products.

  • Contribute to competitive insights: Help track and communicate competitor capabilities, contributing to win/loss insights and positioning strategy.

  • Support technical partnerships: Collaborate with product and partner teams to build reference architectures and articulate joint solution value.

  • Be a technical voice: Present at internal training sessions, webinars, and customer calls as needed to share technical knowledge and thought leadership.

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $122,000 USD and $166,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $111,000 CAD and $150,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set.

Our culture
At 1Password, we prioritize collaboration, clear and transparent communication, receptiveness to feedback, and alignment with our core values: keep it simple, lead with honesty, and put people first.
You’ll be part of a team that challenges the status quo, and is excited to experiment and iterate in search of the best solution. That said, 1Password is not for everyone. Our work is demanding, we strive for excellence, and the pace is fast. We need people who are keen to take on challenging problems, who seek feedback to grow, and who are driven to make an impact. If you're looking for a place where you can settle into a comfortable routine, this might not be the right fit for you. We’re looking for individuals who are proven experts in their fields, as well as those who are highly adaptable, can thrive in ambiguity and through change, are curious, and above all deliver results.
We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. We also understand that thinking critically about AI in its current forms will help us create better solutions for our customers and ourselves with its future forms, which will help us continue to close the gap between security and privacy and achieve our mission. We want team members at all levels to take the approach of actively learning AI best practices, identifying opportunities to apply AI in meaningful ways, and driving innovative solutions in their daily work. Embracing the future of AI isn't just encouraged at 1Password—it's an essential part of how we will be successful at 1Password.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
