THE OPPORTUNITY

The Technical Marketing Engineer is a technical storyteller and strategist who is passionate about helping customers and prospects understand the real-world value of Data Security Platforms (DSPs). This individual excels at creating immersive workshops, hands-on demos, and strategic education materials that demonstrate how data security platforms address critical data and AI security challenges.

Beyond delivering compelling technical content, they are a champion for community building and education around data and AI security - empowering practitioners, thought leaders, and partners through knowledge-sharing initiatives, training sessions, and public-facing engagements. They play a pivotal role in evangelizing the Cyera Data Security Platform to external audiences (including prospects, partners, and analysts) and internal stakeholders (such as sales teams, SEs, and product teams), driving both adoption and competitive differentiation while fostering a thriving, informed community around secure innovation.


Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical and Domain Expertise

  • Deep understanding of data security principles: data discovery, classification, risk scoring, encryption, access control, and cloud-native data protection.
  • Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with compliance and governance frameworks: GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, etc.
  • Experience designing hands-on workshops, PoCs, or labs for customers or partners that replicate real-world environments and demonstrate business value.

Evangelism and Enablement Skills

  • Exceptional storyteller who can articulate complex Data Security concepts in clear, value-driven narratives for technical and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated success leading technical workshops, virtual hands-on sessions, and live demo events to show how data security platforms solve pain points across industries.
  • Ability to represent the company at conferences, webinars, analyst briefings, and community events as a subject-matter evangelist.
  • Collaborates with Product Marketing, Technical Alliances, Growth Marketing and Sales to build field-ready assets - architecture guides, demo videos, explainer videos, technical whitepapers, and talk tracks.

Professional Experience

  • 4-8 years experience in technical marketing, solutions engineering, or technical enablement, ideally within cybersecurity, cloud security, or data protection.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, startup environment where cross-functional work and rapid iteration are the norm.
  • Demonstrable success in enabling go-to-market teams through interactive technical training and engagement content.

  • Confident, outgoing, public speaker with a passion for teaching, influencing, and inspiring action.
  • Highly organized and able to plan, manage, and deliver workshops and field events from start to finish.
  • Curious and empathetic: enjoys understanding customer challenges and tailoring solutions accordingly.
  • Agile and self-directed: capable of working independently while thriving in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Plus: Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical discipline.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, AWS/GCP/Azure cloud certifications) are a strong plus.



COMPENSATION INFORMATION: 

In addition to a standard benefits and equity package, we offer a generous salary. Final compensation will vary based on seniority and relevance of experience, location, and position requirements.

This role may be eligible for potential merit increases based on factors such as individual or company performance, time in role, and other discretionary factors.​
