About Abby Connect
Abby Connect is a fast-growing customer experience company helping small businesses deliver personal, professional, and scalable communication. Our live receptionist services have powered thousands of client interactions every day for over a decade, and we’re now expanding our technology portfolio with AI-driven products that combine human empathy with intelligent automation.
The AI Receptionist Platform is Abby Connect’s latest innovation — an intelligent voice system that manages scheduling, intake, and communication in natural conversation. It’s a critical part of our long-term strategy to redefine how businesses handle customer calls.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Lead to take ownership of our AI Receptionist platform — overseeing technical direction, guiding development efforts, and partnering closely with executive leadership to evolve a proven, production system.
This person will work directly with the CEO and collaborate with cross-functional teams across product, operations, and AI. You’ll ensure our technology continues to scale, stay reliable, and deliver an outstanding customer experience.
What You’ll Do

- Oversee engineering quality — drive scalability, security, and performance across services and integrations.
- Partner with product and leadership to translate business goals into technical execution.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, AI/voice partners, and client systems.
- Guide and mentor future hires as the team expands.
- Continuously improve infrastructure, testing, and monitoring to support reliable growth.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering — strong background in backend or full-stack development.
- Proven experience designing or maintaining complex, production-scale systems (SaaS, AI, communications, or data-driven platforms).
- Strong architectural instincts and practical experience with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Excellent technical judgment, communication skills, and ability to balance speed and stability.
- Thrives in collaborative environments — proactive, curious, and focused on results.
- Bonus: Experience in voice AI, NLP, or call automation systems.
Why Join Abby Connect
