Technical Lead I, Business IntelligenceData Warehouse Operations Group — Data Warehouse Infrastructure
About the TeamThe Data Warehouse Infrastructure (DWI) product line is responsible for making HubSpot smarter by enabling deeper understanding of our customers. They're not a centralized reporting team. Instead, they're a team of engineers who partner with our business leaders to understand the nuances of the data and HubSpot systems. They provide access to the data HubSpot needs to manage our business intelligently. They tackle HubSpot’s most complex data challenges, manage our BI data infrastructure, and provide support to each other and to a network of analytics engineers and other data developers throughout the company. You will get to work in a best-in-class tech stack that includes Snowflake, dbt, Looker, and a suite of in-house tools built by our team.
About the RoleThis role sits within our Data Warehouse Operations group within DWI. The team has two primary missions:
1) Improving the performance and cost efficiency of Looker and Snowflake assets through targeted consultation and automation
2) Integrating, configuring, and administering 3rd party tools within our data infrastructure.
They also support internal analytics teams who build on top of our data infrastructure, and partner with software engineers on the Data Platform Pillar of DWI, who are building the first-party systems within that infrastructure.
We're looking for individuals who:
- Have hands-on experience developing and supporting a modern data infrastructure, including cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake,and BI tools such as Looker, Airflow, Dagster, and dbt.
- Are highly proficient in SQL, with a focus on data warehousing best practices. Specific experience with dbt is preferred.
- Have a passion for solving problems at scale through automation.
- Have a strong empathy for our internal customers and the problems they are solving
- Can triage bugs and questions in our own codebase. Most of our backend codebase is in Java, but we also have elements written in Python.
- Understand the value of building a diverse team, and are champions and upstanders for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives.
- Bring industry best practices to help us improve our existing data infrastructure, and continue to scale it with the growth of the business.

Pay & Benefits
The cash compensation below includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
