Warp: We're Building the Platform for Agentic Development

Warp began with the vision of reimagining one of the fundamental dev tools—the terminal—to make it more usable and powerful for all developers. As AI has advanced, Warp has evolved beyond its terminal roots into the platform for Agentic Development: a workbench for dispatching agents to code, deploy, and debug production software.

With over 700k active developers and revenue that has grown over 20x this year so far, Warp is now one of the fastest growing startups in the exploding AI development space. We believe that soon developers will be “tech leads” for groups of agents; rather than opening a code editor to write code or a terminal to write commands, they will open Warp and prompt their computer to build features, fix bugs, and diagnose production issues.

With its starting point as a reimagined command line, Warp is well-positioned to support agent-first workflows: It sits at the lowest level in the dev stack, has access to all of a developer’s context, and is set up for multitasking and long-running processes. In addition, Warp has state-of-the-art code editing features and built-in team knowledge sharing. It’s the right interface for the agentic future.

Our mission has remained the same even as AI has advanced: to empower developers to ship better software more quickly, freeing them to focus on the creative and rewarding aspects of their work.

For more information on our team and culture, we highly recommend reading our How We Work.

We’re looking for a contract technical copywriter to help us scale our content velocity ahead of upcoming launches and to improve existing documentation, emails, and developer-facing content. This person will create crisp, technically accurate copy that helps developers understand, use, and succeed with Warp.

You will…
  • Write and edit developer-facing documentation, including CLI guides, API instructions, and tutorials
  • Create and refine product pages, emails, and drip sequences tied to product launches and enterprise outreach
  • Audit and improve existing docs, onboarding guides, and help content to ensure clarity and completeness
  • Develop end-to-end tutorials and examples for Warp’s agent platform
  • Collaborate with PMM, Product, and Engineering to maintain consistency and technical accuracy across all content

You may be a good fit if you…

  • Have 3–6 years of technical writing or developer marketing experience
  • Are skilled at explaining complex technical concepts clearly and precisely
  • Can write with the clarity of an engineer and the readability of a storyteller
  • Have experience working with APIs, CLIs, SDKs, or AI developer tools
  • Thrive in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment and can deliver high-quality content with minimal oversight

Contract Details

  • Part-time: ~20 hours/week
  • Contract duration: 3 months (with potential to extend)
  • Location: Remote (within US or Canada)
  • Start date: Immediate
  • Rate: $70-$120/hour

About Warp

We are a company run by product-first builders, building a core product for all developers. We are committed to understanding our users deeply. We are also backed by a network of passionate angels, including Dylan Field (Co-Founder and CEO, Figma), Elad Gil (early investor in Airbnb, Pinterest, Stripe, and Square), Jeff Weiner (Executive Chairman and Ex-CEO, LinkedIn), Marc Benioff (Founder and CEO, Salesforce), and Sam Altman (Co-Founder & CEO, OpenAI).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
