Job Description:

The Technical Consulting Engagement Manager is primarily responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact, overseeing pre and post sales project delivery, ensuring client satisfaction, and strategically aligning projects within our Technical Consulting organization to align with broader business objectives, effectively bridging the gap by managing expectations and fostering long-term partnerships; and manage a portfolio of accounts and drive successful project outcomes and client retention. 

Key responsibilities of the Engagement Manager:

  • Client Relationship Management:

Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations to ensure a positive experience throughout the engagement. 

  • Project Oversight:

Manage the day-to-day execution of client projects, including scope definition, timelines, budget, and quality control, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within specifications. 

  • Communication and Collaboration:

Facilitate clear communication between clients and internal teams, acting as a liaison to address concerns, provide updates, and manage stakeholder expectations. 

  • Solution Development:

Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement customized solutions that meet client requirements and address their business challenges. 

  • Performance Monitoring:

Track project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain project success. 

  • Client Feedback Management:

Actively solicit and analyze client feedback to identify areas for improvement and enhance the overall client experience. 

  • Business Development:

Identify opportunities for expansion within existing client accounts, contributing to revenue growth and client retention. 

Required Skills and Work Experience:

● 12+ years with pre/post engagement management experience required in an IT environment

● Experience managing Mainframe Software projects in a fast-paced environment

● Demonstrated mastery of at least 10 years IT project management experience using standard Work Breakdown Structures, Project Plans, Risk & Issue Management, Project Governance, experience applying PMI project methodologies to projects and programs

● Proven knowledge of Project Management methodologies / with a required PMP Certification.  Other industry certifications such as Scrum, ITIL, SAFe are a plus.

● Proven organizational and planning skills

● Proven track record of delivering large or complex projects/programs on time and within budget

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Strong organizational skills; works well under pressure and with minimal supervision

● Ability to manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines

● Ability to effectively drive execution and own responsibility for overall success of projects

● Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills

● Technical proficiency and customer-facing skills

● Generally works without consulting their manager

● Ability to make decisions independently and respond to client questions such as scope, staffing, invoicing, resource allocations and staffing requirements

● Typically has a geographic focus of North America

● Business travel of up to 25 percent yearly may be required

Experience: Bachelor’s and 8+ years of related experience required

Certification: PMP Certification is required

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $84,000 - $135,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
