JOB DESCRIPTION
Technical Consultants deliver value to customers through implementation, technical configurations, and providing recommendations and solutions to business problems. They shape and improve the experience of key Vertafore clients. They work cross-functionally across Vertafore, including Customer Support, Account Management, Professional Services, Product Management, and Engineering to help guide the client and also contribute to the future growth of your team.
A Technical Consultant at Vertafore works as part of a cross-functional team serving our key clients, which means you need to be a proactive self-starter, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and service-focused to help nurture the client experience. Additionally, you love getting into the technical details of an implementation and are excited by coming up with new tools, processes, or solutions to complex problems.
Level II Consultants expand depth or breadth of product expertise, applying that understanding to unique customer scenarios for the betterment of the products' effectiveness and identifying best practices that could be leveraged elsewhere.

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:
- Configuring the Surefyre platform to meet our customers' needs through technical configuration using HTML, JavaScript and JSON
- Building JSON based forms using our drag and drop form builder and advanced edits to the JSON schema
- Writing python scripts to assist in data migrations, import, export or advanced configuration for customers
- Assisting in integrations with third party systems using REST and SOAP APIs
- Setting up excel based worksheets to aid in calculations for the Surefyre platform
- Work closely with product & engineering teams to help drive changes to the product to ease configuration tasks
- Work with the engineering team to assist in technical configurations such as advanced integrations
- Work with Professional Services to understand needs of a customer project and changes that are needed to their Surefyre instance
- Reproduce issues customers see with their configuration and help resolve these issues
- Documenting changes that were made to customer instances
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to work within a team in a collaborative manner• Willingness to learn new technologies and experiment with innovation• Self-starter who is detail-oriented, quick-learner, deadline-driven and can manage shifting priorities• Strategic problem solver with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills• Proactively acquires new skills and learns new tools and technologies to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Fluent in web coding languages including HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Technical knowledge of configuration syntax such as JSON or YAML
- Experience with editing and creating PDF files
- Experience with Microsoft excel including advanced features and formulas
- Experience using or working with enterprise B2B software
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in computer related field
- 3+ years experience in B2B software industry
- 3+ years in technical configuration or QA role
- Programming experience in at least one development language
- Experience with a template language such as Jinja2
- Knowledge of APIs and experience with Postman
- Knowledge of API authentication mechanisms such as OAuth, API Tokens, Basic Auth, etc.
