Technical Co-Founder / Lead Engineer
Unstuck Engine

Hey, I’m Ivan Kovpak, founder and CEO of Unstuck Engine.

We’re building the infrastructure layer for B2B GTM. Most SDRs would describe us more simply as a warm leads database. Honestly, both are true. Our view is that Clay validated the category, and we are building what comes next: a sheetless intelligence and orchestration layer for GTM teams.

A bit about me so you know who you’d be building with: I’m a serial entrepreneur, built at scale before, was once featured in Forbes, and at one point drove $1M in daily sales.

Now I’m looking for a technical co-founder.

We are not starting from zero. We already have a live product, real revenue, and we are currently raising a $500K late pre-seed round. The product was built by our founding engineers, and now the opportunity is visible enough that we need to scale faster and ship faster.

This is not a corporate CTO role. This is not a comfortable “head of engineering” job inside an established machine. This is a real builder role for someone who wants to help create a venture-scale company from a stage where speed, judgment, and technical leverage actually change the outcome.

What I need from you:

1. You must independently believe this can become a very large company.
I don’t need blind faith. I need conviction built from your own research. Look at what we do, look at the market, look at the shift happening in GTM infrastructure, and decide for yourself whether this can become a unicorn-scale business. The tools for deep research are there now. Use them.

2. You must be an AI-forward full-stack engineer.
You already use tools like Claude Code, Bolt, Warp, Lovable, n8n, and whatever else actually helps you ship faster. Not as a gimmick, but as leverage. You also need strong fundamentals in JavaScript, React, SQL, APIs, and product architecture, because I need someone who can combine AI speed with real engineering judgment.

3. You must be able to lead, not just code.
I need someone who can work with people, manage technical delivery, make clear tradeoffs, and raise the speed and standard of execution. This role is not just about writing code. It is about taking ownership of the technical side of the company as we grow.

4. Location matters.
I highly prioritize candidates in Los Angeles, California, and broadly the West Coast. I want overlap, fast communication, and the ability to work closely together, including in person when needed. Remote is possible, but not equal.

5. You need startup reality tolerance.
Compensation will be a discussion around cash and equity depending on timing, fit, and what stage we are at when we start working together. We are raising now, and the structure will depend on where things stand at that moment. If you need a fully defined corporate package from day one, this is probably not for you.

Who this is for:

  • Someone who wants to build a real company, not just take a job.
  • Someone who is excited by speed, ambiguity, and ownership.
  • Someone who thinks like a founder, not just an employee.
  • Someone who uses AI to multiply output, not replace thinking.

Who this is not for:

  • Someone optimizing for comfort and predictability.
  • Someone who wants to manage but not build.
  • Someone who needs perfect specs before starting.
  • Someone who likes startup upside in theory, but not startup reality in practice.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
