TECHNICAL APPLICATIONS MANAGER
Reports To: Chief Technology Officer

Position Summary
The Technical Applications Manager leads the design, development, integration, administration, and improvement of enterprise applications supporting legal operations, finance, accounting, human resources, client service, reporting, and executive decision-making. This hands-on leader is accountable for secure, reliable platforms such as NetSuite, Paycom, Filevine, systems like Litify, middleware, APIs, data services, and reporting tools, and ensures that application investments produce measurable
Essential Responsibilities
Portfolio & Solution Leadership
- Application Strategy: Own the portfolio roadmap, lifecycle, architecture, standards, licensing, and capacity management.
- Solution Development: Deliver configurations, workflows, forms, scripts, automations, reports, dashboards, and extensions aligned with approved requirements.
- Platform Ownership: Lead NetSuite, Paycom, Filevine, Litify, and comparable platforms, including environments, governance, access, upgrades, testing, and support.
- Integration Architecture: Design reliable integrations using APIs, web services, middleware, ETL/iPaaS, event-driven methods, and secure file exchange.
- Business Partnership: Work with Legal Operations, Finance, Accounting, HR, Intake, Pre-Litigation, Litigation, and executives to define priorities and outcomes.
- Data & Reporting: Improve data quality, master data, field definitions, identifiers, analytics, and cross-system reconciliation.
Delivery & Operational Leadership
- Application Delivery: Lead discovery, design, development, testing, training, deployment, stabilization, and benefits realization.
- Security & Compliance: Apply least privilege, segregation of duties, auditability, change controls, privacy safeguards, and secure development practices.
- Operational Excellence: Establish monitoring, service levels, incident management, documentation, backups, continuity, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Release Quality: Require approvals, test plans, regression testing, release notes, rollback procedures, and post-implementation reviews.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Partner with the CTO to manage software partners, contracts, renewals, performance, risks, budgets, licensing, and statements of work.
- Team & Continuous Improvement: Develop staff and partners while advancing automation and AI through governed pilots, adoption plans, and measurable results.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent education and professional experience.
- Seven or more years of experience delivering enterprise applications, including at least three years in technical or people leadership.
- Hands-on expertise with NetSuite, Paycom, Filevine, Litify, Salesforce, or a comparable enterprise SaaS platform.
- Strong knowledge of application architecture, SDLC, requirements, configuration, APIs, integrations, data, reporting, and testing.
- Experience leading complex implementations and managing vendors, dependencies, risks, budgets, and executive stakeholders.
- Knowledge of access controls, security, audit controls, privacy, change management, business continuity, and technical communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting a law firm, professional services organization, or regulated environment handling confidential, PII, PHI, financial, or client data.
- Relevant certifications in enterprise platforms, Microsoft, cloud, integration, security, or project management.
- Experience with financial systems, HRIS and payroll, legal case management, document generation, automation, data warehouses, BI, and enterprise AI.
- Experience establishing application governance, release calendars, application inventories, ownership matrices, centers of excellence, and service-management measures.
