About depthfirst

We believe that software is the foundation of modern civilization. Yet vulnerabilities threaten its integrity, security, and resilience. We are on a mission to secure the world's software.

depthfirst is building intelligence to detect and remediate critical software vulnerabilities. We are training and scaling security AI agents to discover zero-day vulnerabilities across large customer codebases and popular open source software.

Our founding team brings deep expertise in data, infrastructure, security and AI, with leaders from DeepMind, Databricks, Square, and Faire. We're looking for thoughtful, driven people excited to work at the intersection of AI, Security, and Infrastructure.

About the Role

We're looking for our first Technical Account Manager to build and scale the customer experience at depthfirst.

As a Technical Account Manager, you'll own the technical customer relationship throughout the post-sales journey, serving as a trusted advisor from onboarding and implementation through adoption and expansion. You'll partner closely with customer security, engineering, and platform teams to drive successful deployments, accelerate time to value, increase product adoption, resolve complex technical challenges, and ensure customers achieve measurable security outcomes.

This is a highly cross-functional role sitting at the intersection of customer success, solutions engineering, product, and engineering. You'll influence product direction through customer feedback while helping some of the world's most sophisticated engineering organizations integrate AI into their security workflows.

If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, building trusted customer relationships, and working at the cutting edge of AI infrastructure and cybersecurity, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do
  • Own the technical success of a portfolio of strategic enterprise customers.

  • Guide customers through onboarding, implementation, integrations, and production deployments.

  • Become a trusted advisor to engineering leaders, security teams, and platform organizations.

  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across cloud infrastructure, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, and application security tooling.

  • Partner with Solutions Engineering on customer handoffs and expansion opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to prioritize customer feedback, influence roadmap decisions, and advocate for customer needs.

  • Develop best practices, technical documentation, deployment guides, and enablement resources.

  • Monitor customer health and proactively identify opportunities to increase adoption and value.

  • Lead technical reviews, architecture discussions, and executive business reviews with customers.

  • Help build the systems, playbooks, and processes that will scale the Technical Account Management function.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years in Technical Account Management, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role.

  • Strong technical background with experience supporting enterprise software or developer infrastructure products.

  • Experience working with APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development workflows.

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and communicate effectively with both engineers and executive stakeholders.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously.

  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and building processes from the ground up.

  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with application security, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, or cloud security.

  • Familiarity with AI/LLM products or developer tooling.

  • Experience supporting highly technical enterprise customers.

  • Previous experience at a high-growth startup.

  • Basic scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar).

What Makes Someone Successful
  • Customers trust you as a technical partner rather than just a vendor.

  • You proactively identify risks before they become problems.

  • You translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.

  • You thrive in fast-moving environments where ownership is expected.

  • You're energized by helping customers adopt transformative technology.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary with meaningful equity

  • Health, vision, and dental insurance

  • Office lunch and dinner (SF office)

  • Ownership and significant room to grow as the company scales

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
