Senior Developer | Tech Lead

About the company

Founded in 2017, Agenda Boa is a Brazilian startup on a mission to bring state-of-the-art digital transformation to individual entrepreneurs and small businesses. We're a 100% remote company with teams across Brazil, Europe, and India.

Agenda Boa is a subscription-based app that provides more organization, professionalism and credibility to these entrepreneurs, helping them streamline their operations and impress customers — from managing orders to issuing quotes, scheduling appointments, controlling finance, and more. It's technology designed to accelerate small businesses and help them thrive. Since our launch, we’ve secured seed funding, joined top acceleration programs, and grown steadily until reaching breakeven. Now, we’re ready to accelerate the next phase of our growth.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Developer & Tech Lead to join our Tech team and lead the engineering efforts behind core product features, integrations, and automations. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, driving projects from concept to production and ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

You’ll architect systems, make key technical decisions, ensure code quality, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, and Business teams to deliver solutions that impact thousands of users. You will guide and mentor the engineering team, introduce best practices, and help shape our technical roadmap.

If you enjoy coding but also thrive on leading high-impact initiatives, solving complex problems, and making architectural decisions — this role is for you.

What will you do?

We’re a startup, so there’s a lot to be structured and built. Your key responsibilities will include:

Product development & solution building

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software, APIs, and integrations using modern frameworks and tools

  • Lead the development of scalable architecture, focusing on performance, reliability, and security

  • Build internal tools and automations to support business teams (Product, Sales, Operations, CS)

Technical leadership

  • Drive technical decisions and collaborate cross-functionally to define roadmaps and feature scope

  • Mentor developers, enable knowledge sharing, promote engineering best practices

  • Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to quality standards, and support team members in solving technical challenges

Systems & infrastructure

  • Collaborate with Data and Product teams to structure, integrate, and optimize core systems

  • Ensure seamless integration between front-end, back-end, and third-party services

  • Monitor and enhance application performance, security, and scalability

Innovation & continuous improvement

  • Explore emerging technologies (AI agents, automation frameworks, API-first architecture, Firebase, etc.)

  • Propose improvements to development workflows, CI/CD, codebase structure, and engineering processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience in software development (full-stack or back-end)

  • Proven experience designing and deploying scalable systems in production

  • Strong knowledge of the following languages: Flutter, Node.js, Python, TypeScript)

  • Experience leading engineering initiatives, mentoring, or acting as technical reference point

  • Solid understanding of software architecture, API design, and system integrations

  • Familiarity with cloud services (GCP, AWS, Firebase)

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)

  • Experience in startups or agile environments

  • Problem-solving mindset, initiative, and ownership

  • Has prior leadership experience

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI integrations, LLMs, or automation frameworks

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, or containerization

  • Exposure to data ingestion, analytics, or BI tools

  • Experience collaborating across multiple teams (Product, Design, Customer Support, Marketing)

How will your application be evaluated?

The recruitment process consists of curriculum analysis, tests and interviews. Your application will be evaluated based on:

  • Cultural fit with our values (fast learners, empathy, collaboration)

  • Academic and professional background

  • Technical quality

  • AI literacy

  • Leadership experience

Compensation package

  • This is a paid full-time position. Compensation will be defined based on your evaluation. We do have a competitive monthly salary range.

  • We’re currently working on a stock option plan for key team members, such as this role.

  • We offer professional development and learning opportunities.

  • A remote work environment.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
