We aren't building a wrapper; we are building a massive-scale conversational intelligence. EverAI has created a platform dedicated to personalized human connection, enabling millions of users to create and interact with highly personalized AI companions.

EverAI is processing 80 million tokens per day and growing. We are looking for a Tech Lead to take the helm of our LLM team (currently 3 engineers) and own the architecture, training, and deployment of the models that power our core product.

This is a role for a builder. You won't just be managing Jira tickets; you will be writing production code, defining our alignment strategy, and shipping features used by millions of users globally. We operate in the uncensored/NSFW space, which presents unique, high-complexity challenges in alignment, moderation, and steerability that you won't find in standard corporate AI.

• Massive Scale: You will solve latency, throughput, and context management challenges at a scale of 80M+ daily tokens.

• Production Focus: This is not a research sandbox. If you fine-tune a model today, it impacts millions of users tomorrow.

• Nuanced Engineering: Because we are "uncensored," we cannot rely on lazy, blanket safety filters. You will build sophisticated classifiers and alignment strategies to balance user freedom with strict safety guardrails.

1. Ship Code & Lead from the Front

• Act as a Player/Coach: Architect the system and mentor the team, but spend significant time hands-on in the codebase (Python/PyTorch).

• Own the core chat loop: Optimize context windows, memory/RAG retrieval, and inference latency to ensure a seamless, real-time experience.

2. Own the Model Lifecycle

• Drive our strategy for SFT (Supervised Fine-Tuning) and RLHF/DPO (Preference Optimization). You decide when to prompt, when to fine-tune, and when to architect a new RAG pipeline.

• Manage the "Data Engine": oversee the sourcing, labeling, and cleaning of diverse datasets to improve model steerability and multicultural performance.

3. Architect High-Precision Moderation

• Build the immune system of the platform. You will design and train custom classifiers to detect and filter non-consensual or illegal content within an explicit environment.

• Move beyond binary "safe/unsafe" flags to create nuanced, context-aware moderation systems.

The Non-Negotiables:

• You have shipped AI at scale. You have 8+ years of engineering experience, with a significant portion dedicated to shipping ML/LLM features to millions of active users.

• You are deeply technical. You are proficient in Python/PyTorch and comfortable with the modern LLM stack (vLLM, HuggingFace, fine-tuning pipelines, eval frameworks).

• You understand the "Uncensored" challenge. You are comfortable working with NSFW content and understand the technical rigor required to moderate it effectively without breaking the user experience.

• Intuition for Alignment: You understand the physics of LLMs—how prompt conditioning, temperature, and sampling affect the "soul" of a chatbot.

• Doer Mindset: You value velocity. You can distinguish between a "perfect" academic solution and a "shippable" production solution.

• Owner: You don't rent code. You obsess over metrics, regressions, and the user experience long after the code has been merged.

• Scale: 80M+ Daily Tokens.

• Team: You + 3 AI Engineers (reporting to you) + DevOps/Web collaborations.
