As a Team Lead, Power Markets, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of financial analysts, engineers, economists, data scientists, developers, and others in producing research for institutional investors and corporate clients. Collectively, you will work to both enhance our technology platform and leverage it to interact directly with clients and help answer some of the hardest questions facing industry and investors today.
Performance Objectives
- Conduct in-depth modeling and analysis of wholesale power markets utilizing production cost and other proprietary software.
- Follow market developments such as supply-demand conditions, regulatory changes, and market outcomes.
- Help develop and enhance Enverus long term forecasting capabilities to generate insights, enhance strategic decision-making, and deliver actionable recommendations to senior management and clients.
- Develop market models and solutions to inform long-term planning and risk management strategies.
- Manage large datasets and organize both inputs and outputs of models utilizing Enverus proprietary data.
- Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build consensus on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure that all projects, including market reports, product development, and customer solutions, meet the agreed-upon objectives and are delivered efficiently
- Write blogs, articles, on energy market activity, trends, and Enverus' forecasting capabilities to engage industry professionals and clients.
- Host webinars to educate clients on market dynamics and Enverus' products. Provide thought leadership by contributing to industry discussions, sharing insights, and promoting the company's expertise in the energy markets.
Competitive Candidate Profile
- Degree in engineering or economics, 2-5 years of experience in wholesale power markets and power market modeling.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to clearly convey complex ideas and insights to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Expertise in wholesale power market modeling, market structures, and pricing mechanisms. Able to provide insights based on market analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and quantitative techniques to forecast market trends, perform scenario analysis, and solve complex problems related to market dynamics.
- Proven ability to analyze and concisely articulate complex ideas through writing and verbal presentations to a wide range of audiences.
- Skilled in energy market modeling software and data platforms, preferably production cost software platforms
- Experience using Python or advanced Excel skills is a plus.
- Strong leadership capabilities, able to guide and mentor junior team members, enhance team performance, and promote professional development.
- Has a can-do attitude along with a deep sense of curiosity.
- Demonstrates a high level of understanding in energy market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory environments.
- Experience in performing energy market price forecasting.
