Parachute Health is seeking a motivated and collaborative Taxonomist/Content Strategist (Consultant) for a 3-month engagement to develop training materials and documentation for our new product relationship, attribution, and quantity calculation capabilities. You'll work directly with the Merchandising Operations team to capture healthcare industry and company context, create learning resources, and enhance our style guide to support in-flight and upcoming category rollouts. Our catalog currently manages tens of thousands of medical products across complex healthcare categories, and we need help making our new capabilities accessible to the entire team.
You will report to the VP of Merchandising Operations and work closely with our Merch Ops team, collaborating with R&D partners as needed. This role will bridge expertise gaps between operational needs and technical implementation, helping our team become more self-sufficient with complex catalog capabilities.
What You'll Do- Training Development for Category Managers (Primary):
- Create and facilitate comprehensive, reusable training on product relationships, attribute capabilities, and quantity features
- Develop practical exercises and examples that demonstrate real-world catalog applications
- Deliver training to the Merch team with materials designed for future onboarding
- Document and prioritize feedback for future feature enhancements
- Catalog Style Guide Enhancement:
- Upgrade our current catalog documentation into a user-friendly, comprehensive, and structured resource
- Incorporate sections on new functionality, and create a template for future additions
- Pairing your taxonomy expertise with our business context, provide examples demonstrating best practices for consistent application
- Taxonomy Guidance:
- Provide hands-on guidance and assist with taxonomy decisions for priority categories currently in rollout
- Document classification patterns that can be replicated across categories
- Develop a decision framework for attribute and taxonomy decisions
- QA Process Documentation:
- Document basic quality assurance processes for catalog data, such as templates and checklists that Merch team members can follow
- Establish governance recommendations that balance quality with efficiency
- 5+ years experience in taxonomy, product information management, or information architecture
- Deep understanding of taxonomy principles with proven ability to explain complex systems clearly through documentation and training
- Experience creating educational materials and delivering training workshops
- Proficiency with Notion required; must either have prior experience or demonstrate exceptional ability to quickly master new documentation tools
- Ability to quickly understand existing systems by asking insightful questions and identifying key learning needs
- Experience with catalog data quality and governance practices
- Self-directed and able to deliver high-quality results within tight timeframes
- Anticipated contract length: 3 Months
- 40/hrs per week
- Pay rate determined by experience and leveling
