Successful candidates should have the following:
- 4+ years of tax and public accounting experience
- Possess a broad understanding of Tax Law with specialized knowledge in a particular area(s) of HNW individuals, partnerships, LLCs, trusts, taxation of pass-throughs, non-profit experience, estate and gift tax, investment advisory, and financial planning.
- Ability to prepare working trial balance and year-end adjusting entries
- Excellent skills, analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to utilize Excel, Word, and CCH Axcess
- Outstanding leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, fostering client and staff relationships
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related fields
- A CPA certification is required
A day-in-the-life basic overview includes:
- Review multistate and federal tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, joint ventures, and non-corporate entities. This includes combined state tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Manage and develop client relationships for income tax and financial planning.
- Collaborate with tax partners and other staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.
- Communicate regularly with clients to manage expectations, ensure they are satisfied with the service, meet deadlines, and lead change efforts effectively.
- Consult and collaborate with clients to recommend business and process improvement strategies and act as a business advisor.
- Supervise and oversee multiple engagements in partnership, trusts, estate, gift, and individual taxation to ensure their success.
- Prepare year-end projections and research various tax issues.
- Mentor senior associates and staff and guide them on complex tax issues.
