We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer & Accounting Specialist to prepare U.S. federal and state tax returns, review accounting records, analyze financial statements, maintain General Ledger accuracy, and support tax planning and compliance initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- EA, CPA, or CPA Candidate preferred
- Minimum 3 years of recent U.S. tax preparation experience
- Experience preparing:
- Form 1040
- Form 1120S
- Form 1065
- Form 1120
- Schedule C & Schedule E
- K-1 Reporting
- Form 1040
- Experience with small business clients
- Strong General Ledger and financial statement review experience
- Experience with adjusting journal entries and year-end tax adjustments
- Individual Taxation (Form 1040, Schedules A, C, D, E)
- Business Taxation (1120S, 1065, 1120)
- Multi-State Tax Returns and State Compliance
- Depreciation, Fixed Assets, Section 179 & Bonus Depreciation
- Shareholder Basis, Partnership Allocations, Corporate Distributions
- Tax Credits, Deductions, and Estimated Tax Calculations
- Form 5471
- CFCs, Subpart F, GILTI
- Foreign Tax Credits
- Forms 8992, 8993, 1116, 1118, 8865, and 8938
- Prepare federal and state individual and business tax returns
- Review financial statements, General Ledger activity, and supporting documents
- Prepare tax workpapers and estimated tax calculations
- Perform account reconciliations and adjusting journal entries
- Review Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements, and bookkeeping records
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and assist with tax planning
- Communicate with clients and respond to tax/accounting inquiries
- Assist with IRS and state notice responses
- QuickBooks Online & Desktop
- Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)
- Drake Tax, Lacerte, ProSeries, UltraTax, or CCH Axcess
- Xero (Preferred)
- Microsoft Office & Google Workspace
