Job Title: Tax Associate

Department: Business Management

Location: Century City

Position Summary: Our Business Management Department is looking for a Tax Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate should have relevant internship experience, a solid educational background, and a strong interest in pursuing a career in public accounting or tax. The candidate must also be able to perform their duties with precision and accuracy.

Successful candidates should have the following:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of internship experience in Accounting or Tax-related fields, preferably in public accounting.
  • Has a comprehensive understanding of Tax Law and knowledge in specific areas, such as individual and corporate taxation of pass-throughs, estate and gift tax, investment advisory, and financial planning.

Educational Requirements:

  • Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field to qualify for the position.
  • Currently eligible for CPA certification or is in the process of meeting the requirements necessary to obtain the certification
  • The candidate must be proficient in Excel and Word, and experience with tax software, such as CCH Axcess, is preferred.
  • Additionally, excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills are required.

A day-in-the-life basic overview includes:

  • Prepare and assist with multi-state and federal income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, corporations, partnerships, entities, estates, and trusts.
  • Support complex tax preparation and tax research and assist in research and analysis.
  • Support Senior Staff and Managers with year-end projections and quarterly estimates.
  • Assist with new tax compliance approaches from reviews to analysis.
  • Conduct thorough research and remain up-to-date with tax laws.
  • Liaise regularly with senior staff, managers, and clients while maintaining strong verbal and written presentation skills.
