When you join our Tax Advisory practice as an M&A Manager, you will partner directly with our clients to help them navigate the dynamic tax challenges associated with mergers and acquisitions. You won’t work on compliance and returns here! Instead, you will tackle a variety of complex projects related to tax advisory, business transactions, and strategy.

As a Manager, you will lead the delivery of client engagements, serving as the day-to-day point of contact for the client, guiding a team of junior consultants through the engagement lifecycle, and ensuring that high quality projects are consistently executed on time and on budget. While developing your project and people management skills, you will further augment your advisory toolkit by digging deep into client problems in real-time and delivering ongoing thought partnership. With experienced leaders to guide you along the way – including a dedicated performance advisor – we are invested in accelerating your growth.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or Taxation

  • Minimum 5 years of combined experience in tax compliance and M&A advisory/consulting

  • You have a passion for developing client relationships and an appetite for building new skills

  • You get the job done and have fun doing it

  • You thrive in an ever-changing, dynamic work environment

  • You are a self-starter who readily identifies problems and instinctively looks for solutions

  • You demonstrate critical thinking, analytical rigor, and strong written and verbal communication skills

  • You enjoy participating in internal and external company initiatives such as community service, training, recruiting, and firm events

  • You have the ability and desire to travel as required based on client location

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead research and analysis related to a variety of M&A tax advisory, transactions, and strategic issues

  • Use tax technical knowledge to lead engagement teams in performing buy- and sell-side due diligence and developing tax-efficient acquisition and divestment structures

  • Partner directly with clients to support their needs by providing on-call tax-related transaction consultative services and delivering high-quality projects

  • Oversee the development of reports, presentations, and other client-facing deliverables

  • Own planning of and successful delivery against project budget and workstreams

  • Participate actively in the development of junior team members by providing coaching and performance feedback, and fostering a team-based working culture

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
