Role Overview

Our client is supporting the development of advanced AI systems through expert review of real-world tax preparation and advisory workflows.

We are looking for experienced US tax professionals with an active CPA license or Enrolled Agent credential to review tax scenarios, evaluate tax-related documents and workflows, and provide structured guidance aligned with IRS rules and professional practice. The work focuses on income tax preparation, filing, federal and state tax issues, edge cases, and tax advisory judgment. No prior AI experience is required.

CONTRACT: Short-term contractor assignment (1099)

LOCATIONS: Remote USA

HOURLY RATE: $80-$110/h

NOTES: Active CPA or EA credential and hands-on tax preparation experience are required.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze real-world federal and state tax scenarios.
  • Provide clear guidance aligned with IRS regulations and professional tax standards.
  • Evaluate tax-related documents, workflows, and AI-generated outputs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify complex tax issues, edge cases, and potential errors.
  • Contribute to tax evaluation rubrics, checklists, and quality standards.
  • Provide recommendations related to individual and/or business income tax preparation and filing.
  • Document findings and feedback in a clear, structured format.
  • Review model outputs and recommend improvements to tax reasoning and accuracy.
  • Collaborate remotely with project and domain teams.

Requirements
  • Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential.
  • Proven professional experience with US income tax preparation and filing.
  • Strong knowledge of federal tax rules and relevant state tax considerations.
  • Experience advising individuals, businesses, or both on tax matters.
  • Ability to identify nuanced tax issues and interpret complex tax scenarios.
  • Strong written English and ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail in reviewing tax documents and calculations.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote contractor environment.
