Tax Accountant - Indirect Tax

This is a remote position. To help our teams work together effectively, this role requires you to be located in the Philippines and to work during APAC hours (6:00am to 3:00pm).
In this role, you'll get to:

• Showcase your experience with Philippines indirect taxes
• Prepare various GST/VAT tax returns and file them on time
• Prepare month end reconciliations of tax sensitive accounts
• Prepare month end journals and other related tax journals
• Assist and support the tax team in answering audit requests
• Research on new indirect tax legislations, assess the impact and coordinate changes to ensure compliance
• Research on customer queries regarding WHT and advice accordingly
• Collaborate with external advisors and internal stakeholders
• Automate and streamline manual processes
• Assist with new tax registrations
• Keep our internal tax documentation up to date

Qualifications
On your first day, we'll expect you to have :

• 3+ years of experience as a tax accountant in a multinational company or professional accounting firm
• Experience in handling global VAT, GST or US Sales Tax returns
• Strong tax research skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Good understanding of the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
• The ability to learn new concepts on the fly independently and can communicate through verbal and written platforms effectively
• The hunger for learning and have no qualms growing your knowledge of new systems and technology
• The ability to manage and meet deadlines, highly organized, detail oriented and can analyze and interpret financial data.

It's also great but not required if:

• You have completed or working toward CA or CPA
• You have experience using Oracle Fusion
