The TAN RIA Product Shelf Manager is responsible for managing, governing, and optimizing the Thrivent Advisor Network (TAN) investment advisory product shelf. This role serves as the primary point of contact for advisors, firm CIOs, and internal stakeholders regarding investment solutions, product availability, and new product requests. The position coordinates product evaluations, due diligence activities, governance processes, and product implementation efforts to ensure the advisory platform remains competitive and aligned with advisor and client needs. This role requires advanced investment knowledge across managed accounts, third-party managers, alternatives, model portfolios, and specialized investment solutions. The Product Shelf Manager works cross-functionally with Due Diligence, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Technology, and Distribution partners to deliver a high-quality advisory product offering. This role reports to the Complex Investment Solutions Manager.
This can be a remote position within the United States.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains overall ownership and governance of the TAN investment advisory product shelf, including product availability, manager rosters, documentation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Serves as the primary intake point for advisors, firm CIO, and business requests related to new investment solutions, managers, platforms, and product capabilities.
- Coordinates initial and ongoing due diligence reviews with internal due diligence teams and external research providers; facilitates review and decision-making processes but does not perform investment due diligence.
- Evaluates product shelf gaps, redundancies, and enhancement opportunities, making recommendations to improve competitiveness, advisor adoption, and client outcomes.
- Leads evaluation and coordination of complex product requests, including SMAs, UMAs, alternatives, exchange funds, options-based strategies, private market solutions, and other specialized investment offerings.
- Acts as a trusted resource to TAN firm CIOs, advisors, and internal stakeholders regarding product capabilities, eligibility requirements, implementation considerations, and appropriate use cases.
- Partners with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, and Technology teams to facilitate product approval, implementation, governance, and ongoing oversight.
- Monitors industry trends, competitive platforms, emerging investment solutions, and advisor demand to proactively identify product enhancement opportunities.
- Represents the advisory product shelf and business requirements on strategic initiatives, platform enhancement efforts, and cross-functional projects.
- Works collaboratively with Distribution, Product Management, and Wealth Management leadership to ensure alignment with enterprise strategy and advisor needs.

TAN Firm CIOs and Advisors: Provide product shelf expertise, evaluate investment solution requests, and support business growth initiatives.
Distribution and Wealth Management Leadership: Align product shelf priorities with advisor and client needs.
Third-Party Asset Managers, TAMP Providers, and Product Sponsors: Evaluate investment capabilities and facilitate product availability.
Level of influence: The role exercises significant influence through product recommendations, governance coordination, advisor consultation, and management of product shelf priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required
- College degree required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in investment product management, investment platform administration, advisory support, due diligence support, wealth management, asset management, or related financial services roles.
- FINRA SIE, Series 7 and Series 66 (or Series 63/65) required or obtained within 90 days of hire/transfer.
- Strong knowledge of managed accounts, mutual funds, ETFs, model portfolios, SMAs, UMAs, and alternative investments.
- Understanding of investment advisory platforms, RIA business models, and advisor distribution channels.
- Knowledge of product governance, product approval, and due diligence processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to identify advisor needs and translate those needs into practical product solutions.
- Ability to work across organizational boundaries and influence business outcomes without direct authority.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation development and delivery.
- Demonstrated relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
Preferred
- MBA.
- Financial services advanced designation preferred (e.g., CFA, CAIA, CFP®, ChFC®).
- Experience supporting an RIA platform, broker-dealer, TAMP, custodian, or wealth management platform.
- Experience working with alternative investments, private markets, and sophisticated wealth management solutions.
