About Numeral:

Numeral is transforming how taxes get done. Digital businesses are currently bogged down by a painful web of regulations across 47 states and 70+ countries. We’re eliminating this burden so teams can focus on their core mission.

We’re the largest and fastest-growing AI-native tax solution. Started in 2023, Numeral has raised over $57M from Benchmark, Mayfield, Y-Combinator, and many others. We now serve over 3,000 paying customers and have more than tripled our revenue every year in our history.

About the role:

We're looking for a Senior Talent Operations Specialist to own recruiting coordination and employee onboarding at Numeral. You'll be the connective tissue between our recruiting team, hiring managers, and new hires, making sure every candidate and every new employee has a seamless experience from first interview to first quarter on the job.

Beyond process, you'll help shape our in-office culture in San Francisco, giving our team a reason to come in and connect. This is a high-ownership role for someone who's detail-obsessed, moves fast, and cares deeply about the experience they create for others.

What you'll do:
  • Own scheduling and logistics for candidate interviews across all teams, keeping the process fast and friction-free for candidates and interviewers alike

  • Serve as a key point of contact for candidates throughout the interview process, ensuring clear communication and a strong candidate experience

  • Manage our ATS hygiene, interview logistics, and recruiting workflows, flagging and fixing bottlenecks as we scale

  • Own the employee onboarding experience end to end, from offer acceptance through an employee's first 30 days

  • Build and refine onboarding materials, checklists, and processes that give new hires a strong start

  • Partner with People and recruiting leadership to identify gaps in process and propose improvements

What you'll bring:
  • 1+ years of experience in recruiting coordination, HR operations, or people operations, ideally at a high-growth startup

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage many moving pieces at once

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interfacing with candidates, new hires, and executives

  • A bias toward action and comfort with ambiguity, you build process where none exists

  • Genuine enthusiasm for creating great candidate and employee experiences

  • Startup mindset: scrappy, resourceful, and energized by fast-paced environments

Even better:
  • Experience owning or significantly improving an onboarding process

  • Experience planning or running in-office events and culture initiatives

  • Familiarity with ATS platforms (Ashby or similar) and HRIS systems

  • Experience at a company scaling headcount quickly

  • Background in a hybrid or in-office-first culture

What we offer:
  • Competitive salary and equity - you'll share directly in the company's success

  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • Wellness perks like Headspace and the Peloton One App

  • 401(k) to help you build long-term financial security

  • Lunch and snacks when you're in the office

  • Regular team offsites and company events as we grow

  • A culture built on ownership - your work matters and people will see it!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
