Objective:

The Talent Advisor serves as a strategic partner in talent acquisition, guiding hiring managers through the recruitment lifecycle. This role combines hands-on recruiting with talent attraction, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring across all Heffernan entities. The Talent Advisor will be involved in developing and maintaining Heffernan’s organization-wide talent strategy. The Talent Advisor will deliver an exceptional candidate experience and drive talent strategies that align with organizational goals. 

Candidates located in the Bay Area, Southern California, or Reno, NV are desired. 


Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Hiring Managers across all Heffernan entities.
  • Partner with Hiring Manager and Talent team to develop job postings across all Heffernan entities, including internal or external postings where required.
  • Act as a liaison between Hiring Manager and candidate for pre-screening assessments, scheduling and conducting interviews, providing feedback, and negotiating offers of employment.
  • Actively source candidates through online channels such as LinkedIn Recruiter or other professional networks. Review and source resumes for all applicants.
  • Maintain applicant-tracking data in the ATS throughout the recruitment process.
  • Assess candidates and make hiring recommendations to the Hiring Manager.
  • Assist in scheduling follow-up interviews with the Hiring Manager and the candidate.
  • Regularly communicate with the Hiring Manager regarding the status of open positions.
  • Support in promoting the Heffernan brand, affiliated entities, and organizational culture to candidates.
  • Attend networking and recruiting events to help build a strong candidate pipeline.
  • Stay up to date on labor laws affecting the talent acquisition process.
  • Maintain relationships with external recruiters and staffing agencies when necessary.
  • Assist with New Hire Orientation Events, Onboarding, and M&A activity, as necessary.
  • Create end-to-end candidate hiring processes to ensure a positive candidate experience.

 

Requirements:

  • Education – High School graduate/GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of recruiting/talent acquisition experience. Insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking system platforms.
  • Experienced in sourcing through social media and web-based recruiting platforms.
  • Must have a strong presence, be able to articulate oneself well on the phone, in person, and via email.
  • Must be coachable and a collaborative team player.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills required.
  • Professional demeanor and behavior are required, as referenced in the Heffernan core values (Habits).

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000. The offer will depend on the geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. This role is eligible to participate in a competitive quarterly incentive program. Working Conditions:

  • Work environment is indoors, sitting at a desk or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Daily use of computers, keyboard, mouse, headset, printers, and other commonly used office equipment.
  • This position may require flexibility to work hours outside of a regular schedule.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
