About Karbon

Karbon is the global leader in practice management software for growth-minded accounting firms. We provide an award-winning, highly collaborative cloud platform that streamlines work and communication, enabling the average accounting firm using Karbon to save 18.5 hours per week, per employee.

We have customers in 34 countries and have grown into a globally distributed team, with our people based throughout the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines. We are well-funded, ranked #1 on G2, have a fantastic team culture built on our values, are growing rapidly, and making a global impact.

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Karbon, you'll power the growth of our revenue-generating teams by connecting exceptional sales and customer talent with our mission to empower accounting professionals to achieve their boldest aspirations. You'll partner closely with our frontline leaders to identify, attract, and onboard the individuals who will be pivotal to our ongoing success in North America. You’d be perfect for this role if you can balance being a consultative talent advisor with high-volume, full-cycle recruiting, thrive in ambiguity, and bring creative energy as a trailblazer who taps into an already established network to bring top talent to Karbon. You’re also deeply connected in the recruitment industry, with the ability to actively sell candidates on why Karbon, beyond our already strong inbound pipeline. This is a fully remote role unless the candidate is based in Chicago where some in-office presence may be required. We firmly believe in being honest throughout the recruitment process, so candidates must know that this is initially a full-time 6 month contract with the opportunity to extend beyond that.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for multiple sales and other roles simultaneously, managing high-volume pipelines while maintaining our quality bar
  • Partner with leaders as their strategic talent advisor, quickly understanding their needs and translating them into effective recruiting strategies
  • Build meaningful relationships with exceptional sales professionals through thoughtful outreach and authentic conversations, maintaining velocity without losing the human touch
  • Move candidates efficiently through the interview process while ensuring each person feels valued and excited about Karbon's mission
  • Champion inclusive hiring by seeking out diverse talent pools and helping teams make fast, fair decisions
  • Write compelling outreach at scale that still feels personal and gets responses by speaking honestly about the impact candidates can make
  • Continuously optimize our recruiting processes to increase velocity and quality, using data to identify bottlenecks and improve conversion rates
  • Balance multiple priorities and stakeholders while maintaining the organizational skills to never let anything slip through the cracks

 Experience and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with at least 1 years focused on high-volume go-to-market recruiting
  • A track record of successfully managing 10+ requisitions simultaneously while maintaining quality and candidate experience
  • The ability to switch between strategic talent advisor and hands-on recruiter, knowing when each approach is needed
  • Strong business acumen and fluency in sales metrics, team dynamics, and what drives revenue team success
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage high outreach volume while keeping messages personalized
  • A data-informed approach to recruiting operations, you know your metrics cold and can spot trends quickly
  • Natural urgency and resilience, you thrive in fast-paced environments and bounce back quickly from rejection
  • A collaborative mindset with the emotional intelligence to manage multiple stakeholders' expectations like they are your only customers

Why Work at Karbon

  • Gain global experience across the USA, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Canada and the Philippines
  • Strong benefits package including:
    • Paid Flexible Time Off with an encouraged 3 weeks use per year
    • Company paid medical for you and eligible spouse/partner and dependents
    • Company paid dental and vision and eligible spouse/partner and dependents
    • Fully company funded short and long term disability
    • Fully company paid life insurance
    • 401(k) with company matching
    • Flexible Spending Account
    • Up to 8 weeks paid parental leave
  • Work with (and learn from) an experienced, high-performing team
  • A collaborative, team-oriented culture that embraces diversity, invests in development and provides consistent feedback
  • Be part of a fast-growing company that firmly believes in promoting high performers from within

As we hire across various locations within the USA we are required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.

The range provided is broad and takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are reviewed when making a hiring decision, such as physical location/cost of living in that location, years of experience, skills, and other business needs.

It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and each compensation decision is dependent on each individual case. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which for some roles may include a target bonus, for some roles very competitive equity grant, and very generous benefits. While we believe competitive compensation is a critical aspect of you deciding to join us, we do hope you also spend time considering why our mission, purpose and values are right for you. We are creating something transformational here, and we hope you are as excited about the future as we are!

The estimated base salary range for this role is:
$80,000$100,000 USD

Karbon embraces diversity and inclusion, aligning with our values as a business. Research has shown that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single criteria. If you've made it this far in the job description but your past experience doesn't perfectly align, we do encourage you to still apply. You could still be the right person for the role!

We recruit and reward people based on capability and performance. We don’t discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, lifestyle, age, educational background, national origin, religion, physical or cognitive ability, and other diversity dimensions that may hinder inclusion in the organization.

Generally, if you are a good person, we want to talk to you. 😛

If there are any adjustments or accommodations that we can make to assist you during the recruitment process, and your journey at Karbon, contact us at [email protected] for a confidential discussion.

At this time, we request that agency referrals are not submitted for this position. We appreciate your understanding and encourage direct applications from interested candidates. Thank you!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
