This Talent Acquisition Partner position is a Resource Employee opportunity, and is subject to a maximum of 1,000 hours within a 12-month period from the start date.

The Accountabilities:

  • Source and interview candidates that are aligned with USC’s mission and values.

  • Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring manager and/or panel.

  • Keep candidates abreast of recruitment process to ensure the best candidate experience.

  • Manage recruitment metrics. Maintain accurate and timely recruitment reports.

  • Keep current on best recruitment practices. Utilize social media to reach a wider audience.

  • Assist HR Director with development of short- and long-range strategic plans to improve customer services and recruiting efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor effectiveness of recruiting strategies. Assess quality of strategies with the goal of recommending modifications. Develop new methods for creating employee work environments.

  • Collaborate with HR Director and HR Managers for projecting current and future staffing needs, recruitment, offers, on-boarding, and hiring of staff and/or students. Collaborate with HR team regarding hiring strategy, recruitment, sourcing, advertising, and development of job profiles.

  • Review and evaluate applicant qualifications for positions. Initiate phone screening of candidates, as needed. Interview and recommend to hiring managers placement of candidates from both internal and external sources. Determine best avenue in recruiting (e.g., advertising, direct contact, employee referrals, research organizations, job fairs, internet, employment agencies, newspapers, and journals).

  • Conduct exit interviews, as appropriate.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

The Qualifiers:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Experience: 3 years.

  • Expertise:

    • Directly related human resource experience.

    • Thorough knowledge of laws governing human resources policies and procedures.

    • Knowledge of human resources theories, principles, and practices.

    • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.

    • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality.

    • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.

    • Professional demeanor and solid presentation skills.

What We Prefer:

  • 5 years of directly related recruiting and/or human resources experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook.

  • Human resources generalist experience in a university setting.

  • Union/high volume recruitment experience.

  • Experience with Workday or similar systems,

Additional Information:

The budgeted hourly range for this position is $36 - 46.36 per hour. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer alignment, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
