The future of aerospace and defense starts here.

Ursa Major was founded to revolutionize how America and its allies access and apply high-performance propulsion, from hypersonics to solid rocket motors, satellite maneuvering and launch. We design and deliver propulsion and defense systems that solve the most urgent and critical national security demands.

We are looking for a Talent Acquisition (TA) Partner to join our Talent team. An Ursa Major TA Partner is a professional networker, sourcing guru, administrative wizard, and lover of learning all things technical. You will manage a full plate of strategic sourcing while driving HM and candidate engagement and collaborate with your peers to get a multitude of roles filled quickly with qualified and diverse candidates. Ursa is looking for someone who works well on a team but is also a problem-solver and can be independent while seeing projects through to completion. You will be metric-driven, strive for continual process improvements, be flexible to shifting priorities, and actively push the envelope daily. No day is the same at Ursa Major and staying organized and nimble is crucial for successfully juggling an ever-shifting workload.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead kickoff meetings with Hiring Managers (HMs) to develop requisitions, understand project needs and discuss headcount while acting as a partner by providing market insight and guidance into the entire interview process.
  • Create and execute long-term strategies to source candidates and build talent pipelines for both current and future needs.
  • Actively source and engage candidates (the best candidates may not even be looking!) using innovative techniques within budget.
  • Leverage referrals, leads, emerging technology, external recruiting partners, and networking events to build our brand and talent pipeline.
  • Conduct the first point of contact phone screens with candidates.
  • Act as the face of Ursa’s brand by articulating Ursa's mission, culture, trajectory, and company benefits as appropriate.
  • Discuss candidates with HMs and recommend top candidates for the next steps.
  • Guide candidates through the interview process by providing them with an exceptional experience from start to finish.
  • Maintain and ensure accurate records in our ATS.
  • Willingness to assist teammates in all endeavors to establish Ursa as an industry leader.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of recruiting experience for highly technical roles or 5+ years of professional experience as a recruiter.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to provide only the highest caliber candidate experience.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both HMs and candidates.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity in all its forms as well as contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of technical recruiting work experience.
  • Previous time recruiting for aerospace roles.
  • Strong competitive market awareness.
  • Experience with creative sourcing using tools and techniques such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Google X-Ray, etc.
  • Experience with Greenhouse is strongly preferred.
  • An understanding of unconscious bias and how to implement and improve Ursa’s inclusion efforts.

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $75,000 - $115,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. What we can’t quantify for you are the exciting challenges, supportive team, and amazing culture we enjoy.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
