Job Description
The Junior Systems Engineer role is responsible for the contribution of Digital and Systems Engineering processes, systems architecture, and digital engineering activities across the T-6A Avionics Replacement Program (ARP). This position will perform digital and systems engineering activities in support of the primary flight and secondary avionics architecture upgrades for a fleet of 440 T-6A Texan II aircraft. As the U.S. Air Force's primary flight trainer, the T-6A is critical to developing basic flying skills for Joint Primary Pilot Training students across the Air Force and Navy. This position provides a high-visibility and rewarding opportunity to support the modernization of the Air Force's primary trainer aircraft fleet.
This role will leverage Systems Modeling Language (SysML) to develop, refine, and integrate architecture artifacts within a comprehensive Digital System Model (DSM). To ensure modeling quality and consistency, the role will support the design and implementation of a SysML style guide that promotes rigorous traceability across all activities. Additionally, the position will support requirements development and analysis, aiding the delivery of Technical Data Packages and system engineering artifacts to manage integration throughout the system lifecycle and foster full alignment with program and customer objectives. The role requires interaction with the Prime Contractor and internal functional areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Candidates must be willing to learn digital engineering and architectural development in SysML-based models that encompass both hardware and software systems. Prospects are expected to gain an understanding of the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements development, functional analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline in systems engineering with 2 years of experience
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles
  • Familiarity with Cameo Systems Modeler and MagicDraw

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience with aircraft or avionics systems.
  • Familiarity with the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process
  • Certification in systems engineering, such as CSEP or OCSMP-MBF

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $72150 - $122655
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
