We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineering Process Engineer to play a crucial role in establishing and optimizing our engineering development lifecycle. This role will focus specifically on shaping, implementing, and continuously improving the requirements management and test management processes within our rapidly evolving systems engineering landscape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, a passion for process excellence, and a proven ability to drive change in complex engineering environments. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our engineering teams can efficiently define, track, validate, and verify system requirements throughout the entire product lifecycle.

  • Process Development & Optimization:
    • Support the definition, development, documentation, and deployment of robust, scalable, and efficient processes for requirements management (elicitation, analysis, allocation, traceability, validation) and test management (planning, design, execution, reporting) along with understanding of maturity.
    • Analyze existing processes (if any) and identify areas for improvement, simplification, and automation to enhance quality, reduce cycle time, and improve team productivity.
  • Tooling & Infrastructure:
    • Support configuration of relevant tools (e.g. Jama) and how they can be architected
    • Define and implement workflows, templates, and guidelines within these tools to support the defined processes.
    • Provide expert support and troubleshooting for process-related tool issues.
  • Training & Mentorship:
    • Develop and deliver training materials and workshops to engineering teams on requirements management and test management processes and tools.
    • Act as a subject matter expert and mentor to engineers, guiding them in the practical application of these processes.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, hardware engineers, software engineers, V&V teams, and program managers, to ensure process adoption and alignment.
    • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input, build consensus, and drive process improvements.
    • Communicate process changes and updates effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Metrics & Reporting:
    • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of requirements and test management processes.
    • Develop dashboards and reports to track process adherence, identify bottlenecks, and demonstrate the value of process improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Champion a culture of continuous improvement within the process and tool organization.
    • Conduct regular process audits and reviews to ensure ongoing effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a systems engineering role, with a significant focus on process development, requirements management, or test management.
  • Proven experience in defining, implementing, and optimizing engineering processes in the automotive, aerospace, or a similar complex product development industry.
  • Strong understanding of the full product development lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard requirements management tools (e.g., JAMA, DOORS, Polarion) and test management tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $115,000 

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
