The System Engineer is a senior level position focused on leading complex solutions for site-based conveyor systems for distribution, fulfillment, and warehouse applications. Applicant will be part of the solutions team deploying complex material handling solutions for various customers. A successful applicant will have leadership qualities and knowledge of a wide range of engineering functions with the ability to handle numerous integrated technologies. System Engineer candidates should be able to work efficiently while leading various engineering teams to completion with minimal supervision and in good harmony with the rest of the project team.

Lead the implementation of large, complex intralogistics projects and programs.

· Develop overall system design using a variety of engineering, technology and operations knowledge.

· Choose best solution for given system requirements with emphasis on throughput, reliability and cost.

· Maintain design integrity through the life of the project and/or program, beginning at concept through system qualification.

· Assist in create standard design solutions that are cost effective, adaptable and scalable.

· Collaborate with other teams, to identify common problems and solutions.

· Analyze the output quality of departments including concepting, engineering, controls, systems integration and software.

· Create supporting documentations and calculations such as rate-flow diagrams and equipment throughputs, to ensure system rates can be achieved per operations conditions.

· Be able to work and meet deadlines under pressure within aggressive schedules.

· Provide detailed communications with stakeholders

· Create and implement best practice standards for conveyor control systems including flow control, gapping, and accumulation.

· Lead, mentor and assist in building standards to ensure measurable and consistent results


Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • · 10+ years of successful experience in the intralogistics field.
  • · Experienced with leading engineers on large complex material handling projects.
  • · Demonstrates broad knowledge in the field from concepting through system testing.
  • · Possess depth of knowledge with available technologies in the marketplace.
  • · Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • · Presents and works well with others including customers, vendors, management and team members.
  • · Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • · Capable of effectively applying technical knowledge to solve a range of issues.
  • · Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment including conveyors, sortation, ASRS, Autostore, AMR/AVG, in-motion scales, case sealers, robotics and palletizers
  • · Knowledge of electrical hardware and it use including, photo-eyes, scanners, dimensioning systems, VFD/Motor starters, conduit/wireway, pushbutton stations, beacons and main control cabinets.
  • · Knowledge of PLC control and warehouse control software.
  • · Ability to understand client operation requirements and how it related to system design.
