About Unlock

Unlock’s mission is to unleash the power of home equity to enrich people’s lives. We do this through a financial solution called a Home Equity Agreement or HEA, an entirely new way to access and utilize home equity. We’re not a lender, so there are no interest charges or monthly payments and homeowners with poor credit or high levels of debt can still qualify. We're beyond passionate about helping our customers build greater financial resiliency. We are mission driven, consumer centric and our products are designed for the way homeowners want to live their lives today - with flexibility and control.

About the role

The IT Applications Administrator at Unlock Technologies will serve as the primary technical support resource for a core internal business application, handling triage, troubleshooting, and resolving end-user issues with minimal escalation to backend engineering. Approximately 75% of this role will focus on application support responsibilities. During periods of low support volume, this position will assist with broader IT operational needs including endpoint management, user lifecycle tasks, automation, and documentation.

What you’ll do
  • Own day-to-day support for the internal business application, including triaging user requests, diagnosing issues, reviewing logs, and minimizing escalations to engineering. Maintain documentation and collaborate with developers as needed to improve support workflows.
  • Manage and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Configure and support device compliance using Microsoft Intune. Perform imaging, software deployment, and support for both Windows and macOS environments.
  • Provide Tier II support to users in the Tempe office and remotely across the organization, ensuring smooth operations and timely resolution of service requests.
  • Use PowerShell and scripting tools to streamline IT tasks and improve support workflows.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for application support processes, IT systems, and internal tools to support knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
What we’re looking for
  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, systems engineering, or application support roles
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Intune
  • Proven ability to support both application-level and system-level issues with minimal escalation
  • Experience with ITSM tools and ticketing systems
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to effectively partner with leaders across multiple functions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and support cross-functional teams

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience supporting internal business applications and workflows
    • Familiarity with logging/monitoring tools
    • Exposure to REST APIs, integrations, or backend support workflows
    • Proficiency in Python & SQL (query writing, data analysis, troubleshooting)
    • Familiarity with Django-based applications and Python
What we offer
  • Opportunity to work in a rapidly growing fintech
  • Dynamic and inclusive work environment that fosters innovation and growth
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Ongoing professional development and career advancement opportunities
  • Flexible work arrangements and a strong emphasis on work-life balance

Target base compensation is $95,000-$115,000 annually. Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. Additionally, Unlock’s Total Rewards package is highly competitive, designed to support your success at work, at home, and at play – such as 401K matching, health benefits, employee stock options and paid time off.

Unlock is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate qualified applicants without regards to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or other protected status under all applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
