Role OverviewFranklin Templeton is seeking a Systems Analyst to lead strategic solutions and drive business outcomes. You will be the key technology liaison to business groups as well as stakeholders, collaborate with departments across the organization and work in an Agile team to deliver progressive solutions. This role will specifically support Western Asset, which is a global asset management firm owned by Franklin Templeton renowned for its expertise in fixed-income investments.
You will identify business needs, analyze and define complex business requirements, evaluate latest vendor solutions, and support the implementation of solutions for business partners. You are results-oriented with strong analytical skills, user-focused, detail-oriented, and aware of the needs of each unique stakeholder group. As a scrum team member, you have an innovative forward-thinking design approach and ensure high-quality delivery of our products through our Agile development process. You are versatile, creative, display leadership qualities and are enthusiastic about taking on new challenges.
How you will add value:Partner effectively with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and document business needs for Investment Management and Investment Operations.
Distill complex business processes into clear and actionable user stories with acceptance criteria.
Develop strong understanding of the business needs to identify opportunities for enhancements and new features, assess and document risks of various solutions and prioritize client requirements.
Collaborate with business partners to perform data validation and ensure data integrity.
Perform data analysis and data integration across multiple systems to provide business user a comprehensive view of clients, portfolios and prospects.
Provide functional expertise to agile teams during development, implementation, testing of complex projects.
Define and execute test cases on the supported systems.
Experience
1+ years’ experience with market data trading floor such as Bloomberg, market data management, and reference data.
Strong understanding of index constituents, pricing, ratings, and security analytics.
Financial Asset Management knowledge and experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance or related degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant development or combination of education, training and experience.
Technical Skills
Strong influencing skills to elicit requirements, write user stories as well as business and functional specifications.
Strong analytical ability to work with market data to create insights and make recommendations to business users.
Experience with any relational database including Oracle, MS SQL, Snowflake, Azure SQL for data analysis and exploration.
Experience with data analysis and reporting using Python and Excel VBA.
Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI is a plus [expand acronym: BI, VBA, SQL]
Soft Skills
Excellent communication skills to create meaningful and compelling stories to convey complex requirements and solutions to clients.

This is a hybrid role requiring individuals to work out of our Pasadena, CA office 4 days per week and 1 day virtual.
