Job DescriptionThe Systems Administrator supports the organization’s IT infrastructure by assisting with system maintenance, troubleshooting, user support, and routine administrative tasks. This role is ideal for an early to mid-level career IT professional who is developing their technical skills and seeking exposure to servers, networks, and cloud environments.
Essential Job Functions
- System & Server Support
- Assist with basic server administration tasks such as updates, user account creation, and monitoring.
- Support Active Directory tasks (user provisioning, password resets, group membership).
- Help maintain Windows desktop and server environments under senior staff guidance.
- User Support & Helpdesk Escalation
- Provide Tier 1/2 technical support for hardware, software, and system access issues.
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding, including device setup and configuration.
- Document common issues and update internal knowledge bases.
- Network & Security Assistance
- Monitor network status and escalate connectivity issues when needed.
- Assist with managing firewalls, switches, and wireless networks.
- Help perform routine security tasks such as patching and endpoint protection checks.
- Cloud & Microsoft 365 Administration
- Support management of Microsoft 365 accounts, licensing, and applications.
- Assist with basic Azure AD tasks such as password resets, MFA support, and group assignments.
- Help setup and maintain Intune-enrolled devices.
- Backup & System Maintenance
- Perform routine backup monitoring and basic restoration tasks.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of IT assets, equipment, and software licenses.
- Projects & Continuous Learning
- Support IT infrastructure projects such as system upgrades or new deployments.
- Collaborate with senior administrators to learn best practices and expand technical skills.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent hands on experience.
- Foundational understanding of Windows operating systems, Active Directory concepts, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Exposure to virtualization (HyperV).
- Strong scripting knowledge (PowerShell).

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here represent those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This role is primary office-based and involves extended periods of sitting, as well as frequent hand use for typing and writing. The position also requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Occasional standing, walking, or bending may be necessary. Some travel will be necessary for customer visits, industry or company events, and meetings. The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally, which may include office supplies or small office equipment. Adequate visual acuity is essential for tasks involving reading, writing, and computer work.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours including evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
