Building Location:Business Service CenterDepartment:1007060 FINANCE SHARED SERVICES - EH SSJob Description:The System Finance Director provides system-level leadership for highly specialized healthcare accounting functions, with primary responsibility for Accounts Receivable / Net Revenue Analytics and Government Reimbursement. This role oversees complex, high-risk financial estimates central to healthcare revenue recognition and partners closely with senior finance leadership, auditors, and operational stakeholders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight.Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for net revenue estimation, A/R valuation, and government reimbursement functions within the Controller organization
- Oversee managers responsible for:
- Contractual and bad debt allowance methodologies in accordance with GAAP
- Net revenue modeling, hindsight lookback analysis, and variance analysis
- Government reimbursement and cost reporting, including third-party payer dynamics
- Ensure consistency, rigor, and integrity of methodologies supporting some of the largest and highest-risk financial estimates on the balance sheet
- Partner with internal and external auditors related to revenue recognition, reimbursement, and compliance activities
- Present and explain complex financial estimates, trends, and variances to senior finance and system leadership, including the CFO
- Lead continuous improvement efforts across net revenue and reimbursement processes, tools, and reporting
- Provide guidance related to net revenue and reimbursement considerations for acquisitions, divestitures, and organizational changes
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Progressive healthcare accounting or finance experience, with direct exposure to:
- Net revenue estimation and A/R valuation or
- Government reimbursement and cost reporting
- Demonstrated experience leading specialized teams within a complex or matrixed organization
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP-based healthcare revenue recognition
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with net revenue or reimbursement modeling tools (e.g., Crowe/Kodiak RCA or similar platforms)
- Public accounting background with healthcare audit or cost report consulting experience
- CPA designation (preferred, not required)
- Ability to operate comfortably with system-level visibility and executive audiences
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical leaders
Scope Clarifications:
This role is not focused on Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or operational revenue cycle management. Candidates whose experience is primarily FP&A or revenue cycle–focused may not find this role aligned with their background.
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:Remote Work Considerations- This position is fully remote, supporting teams distributed across multiple states, however, candidates must reside in states where Essentia is authorized to employ.
