Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled System Analyst to support a large-scale digital platform modernization and integration transformation program within the QSR and e-commerce ecosystem. The role focuses on loyalty platforms, customer identity, digital commerce workflows, and API-based orchestration architectures.

The SA will work closely with product owners, architects, engineering, QA, and business stakeholders to define business requirements, translate them into detailed functional and technical specifications, and ensure seamless delivery of customer-centric digital journeys.

Strong experience in e-commerce and mobile applications, QSR operations, and API-driven ecosystems is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirements discovery and analysis by translating business needs into structured, implementation-ready specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Drive Spec-Driven Development practices through creation and maintenance of Feature Briefs, requirements.md, design.md, and testing artifacts that serve as the single source of truth for delivery teams.

  • Create detailed user stories, functional specs, acceptance criteria, workflows, sequence diagrams, and process flows.

  • Elicit, analyze, and document non-functional requirements for digital commerce, loyalty, identity, and integration systems.

  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate requirement elaboration, process modeling, edge-case identification, and documentation while ensuring business accuracy and completeness.

  • Partner with product and engineering leads to validate and govern AI-generated requirements, designs, test scenarios, and documentation to ensure consistency, traceability, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.

  • Partner with Quality Engineering teams to define acceptance criteria, Gherkin scenarios, and test coverage, ensuring end-to-end traceability from requirements through implementation and validation.

  • Collaborate with architects and backend teams to define API contracts, event-driven workflows, and integration of orchestration requirements.

  • Support discovery workshops, gap analysis, and current vs future-state architecture assessments.

  • Define requirements for localization, compliance, scalability, resiliency, observability, and security.

  • Work closely with QA to define test scenarios, validation criteria, and UAT workflows.

  • Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release planning with well-refined, prioritized stories.

  • Act as a bridge between business, engineering, and QA teams to ensure requirements of clarity and traceability.

  • Support production readiness, release validation, and post-release optimization activities.

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and enhancement opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in digital commerce, loyalty platforms, or large-scale enterprise systems.

  • Strong experience in e-commerce platforms, loyalty programs, and customer engagement ecosystems.

  • Hands-on experience with mobile development projects is strongly preferred.

  • Solid understanding of QSR workflows, shop management, menu management, order management, checkout, payment, promotions, and customer engagement funnels.

  • Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native systems.

  • Proven ability to write high-quality user stories and functional specifications.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Strong stakeholder communication, documentation, and facilitation skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in AWS-based cloud platforms.

  • Exposure to identity platforms, SSO, authentication, and authorization workflows.

  • Experience working on integration modernization or API orchestration programs.

  • CBAP, CCBA, Agile BA, or Product Owner certifications.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
