Job Summary

Aretum is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the secure, stable, and resilient operation of critical DoD enterprise networks and IT infrastructure across geographically distributed SCSTC locations. This role involves the daily administration, sustainment, and troubleshooting of networks, servers, workstations, and virtual environments 25. They are responsible for software/hardware installations, upgrades, patch management, and maintaining LAN/WAN architectures.

Due to the nature of our work as a federal consulting organization, employees may be expected to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must adhere to applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements. 

Responsibilities

  • A system administrator is responsible for installing, maintaining, securing, and supporting an organization’s IT systems and networks to ensure reliable and efficient operations
  • Manage, maintain, and monitor servers, networks, and systems to ensure security, performance, and reliability
  • Troubleshoot system issues, apply updates/patches, manage user access, and support day-to-day IT operations

Requirements
  • Four (4) years of system management experience
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN architecture, TCP/IP, and OSI model concepts.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and virtual machine management.
  • Proficiency with server and client operating systems (Windows/Linux) and OS command-line utilities.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles such as firewalls, DMZs, and system hardening techniques.
  • Experience with cloud computing deployment models (public, private, hybrid) and migrating workloads between them.
  • Education/Certification: Must possess a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, GSEC, SSCP, and GICSP)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with ITIL v4 Foundation and advanced enterprise monitoring solutions.
  • Prior experience supporting geographically dispersed Navy or DoD enterprise networks

Travel Requirements

This is an onsite position, with work performed onsite at designated client or corporate locations, as needed. Travel requirements may vary depending on project assignments, client meetings, or internal collaboration and will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
