Job Description:

The Sr. Global VP of Solutions Engineering will own the technical pre-sales function globally—defining strategy, building the team, and setting the standard for how Uniphore’s platform is architected, demonstrated, and validated with enterprise customers. This is a builder role. You will inherit a team of 20 SEs across the US, Middle East, and APAC, with an immediate mandate to scale to while establishing consistency, technical rigor, and operational excellence across the organization.

This role requires a deeply technical leader—someone who can go architecture-level with enterprise CTOs and ML engineers, while also shaping GTM strategy with the CRO. You must be as credible in a whiteboard session on agentic AI infrastructure as you are in a boardroom.

This position is based in Palo Alto, CA.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Pre-Sales Leadership

  • Own the global SE function end-to-end: strategy, hiring, enablement, and execution across pre-sales engineering and solution architecture.

  • Build and enforce a consistent, repeatable SE motion—demo environments, POC frameworks, technical qualification criteria, and win/loss analysis.

  • Serve as the senior technical authority in strategic customer engagements, including architecture reviews, security and sovereignty discussions, and executive briefings.

  • Drive technical differentiation by articulating Uniphore’s platform advantages—zero-copy data architecture, composable model layer, agentic orchestration—against hyperscaler alternatives.

Platform Strategy & Product Influence

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to translate field insights into roadmap priorities, ensuring the platform stays ahead of enterprise AI buyer requirements.

  • Shape how Uniphore’s four-layer architecture (data, knowledge, models, agents) is positioned and validated across industry verticals.

  • Develop scalable solution frameworks and reference architectures that accelerate sales cycles and reduce time-to-value for customers.

Team Building & Organizational Scale

  • Scale the SE organization with a focus on technical depth, regional coverage, and specialist capability (AI infrastructure, data architecture, agentic workflows).

  • Build a culture of technical excellence—invest in AI upskilling, create career development paths, and establish performance standards that attract and retain top technical talent.

  • Partner with Sales leadership to define AE/SE ratios, coverage models, and engagement protocols that maximize revenue efficiency.

Executive Engagement & Market Presence

  • Represent Uniphore at the CTO and VP Engineering level in enterprise accounts, establishing trusted advisor relationships with technical decision-makers.

  • Participate in industry events, customer advisory boards, and thought leadership activities to reinforce Uniphore’s position as the enterprise AI platform leader.

  • Support the CRO in executive-level deal strategy and customer escalations.

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Deep, current technical expertise in AI infrastructure, foundation models, LLM/SLM deployment, RAG architectures, or agentic AI frameworks—gained through hands-on work or direct customer engagement at companies building or selling in this space.

  • Proven track record building and scaling pre-sales Solutions Engineering organizations globally—from defining the function to managing large, multi-region teams at significant scale.

  • Experience at an AI-native company, cloud data platform, or AI infrastructure company.

  • Ability to operate credibly at both the engineering/architecture level and the C-suite business level—this is not a role for a polished presenter who can’t go deep.

  • 15+ years in Solutions Engineering or pre-sales technical roles, with 8+ years in senior leadership.

  • Bay Area-based or willing to relocate. Regular in-office presence at our Palo Alto HQ is required.

Strongly Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise data sovereignty, zero-copy architectures, or regulated industry AI deployments.

  • Experience leading SE organizations through a company’s platform transition (e.g., product to platform, legacy to AI-native).

  • Pre-IPO company experience—understanding of what it takes to build scalable GTM infrastructure ahead of a public offering.

  • International team leadership across AMER, EMEA, and APAC.

What Success Looks Like
  • SE organization scaled with consistent standards, frameworks, and operational cadence.

  • Measurable reduction in sales cycle length through repeatable technical qualification and POC methodology.

  • Uniphore’s platform is technically validated and architecturally credible with Fortune 500 CTOs and ML engineering teams.

  • Revenue influenced by SE engagements grows in proportion to team scale.

  • Team retention, engagement, and technical depth improve year-over-year.

Why Uniphore
  • Ground-floor opportunity to build the SE function.

  • Strategic backing from NVIDIA, Snowflake, and Databricks—the infrastructure companies shaping enterprise AI.

  • A platform solving what hyperscalers cannot: production-grade agentic AI with full data sovereignty for regulated industries.

  • Direct partnership with a CRO and CEO who are deeply technical and operator-led.

  • The chance to define what enterprise AI pre-sales looks like—this function is being built, not inherited.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
