Department Overview

WDTech is W&D’s in-house technology team – a group of collaborative and highly skilled technology professionals, all of whom are leading experts in real estate data, data science, and technology. 

 

WDTech Product works hand-in-hand with the business to translate business outcomes into actionable product strategies, aligning user needs with innovative solutions, via close collaboration with our engineering partners, to ensure W&D maintains a competitive advantage as our technology landscape and target market rapidly evolve.   

 

The Impact You Will Have  

As Senior Vice President, Product – Data, Analytics & AI/ML, you will lead the product strategy and vision for Walker & Dunlop’s enterprise data platform, business intelligence and analytics capabilities, and artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) product portfolio. This role is responsible for helping transform the firm’s data assets into scalable business capabilities that support decision-making, client experiences, operational effectiveness, and long-term growth. 

 

Reporting as a senior product executive, this leader will partner closely with Data Engineering, WDSuite Product, Engineering, and business leaders to deliver trusted, scalable, and well-governed data and AI-enabled capabilities across the organization. Success in this role will be measured by platform adoption, business impact, product delivery, and the effectiveness of data, analytics, and AI/ML capabilities across the firm. 

 

Primary Responsibilities 

 

  • Define and lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise data platforms, analytics capabilities, and AI/ML products.  

  • Lead the product management function supporting enterprise data platforms, including data warehousing, data lakes, semantic layers, and data access patterns.  

  • Define and oversee product strategies for self-service analytics, executive reporting, embedded analytics, and decision-support capabilities across business units.  

  • Lead the AI/ML product portfolio, including predictive models, document intelligence, retrieval and generative AI experiences, and AI-assisted decision-support capabilities.  

  • Evaluate and prioritize data, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives to align investments with business priorities and product strategy.  

  • Partner with Data Engineering, Product, Engineering, Design, Infrastructure, and business teams to deliver scalable platform and product capabilities.  

  • Establish standards and oversight practices related to governance, reliability, auditability, and responsible AI usage within enterprise data and AI-enabled products.  

  • Define and monitor KPIs related to platform adoption, analytics usage, model performance, and business impact.  

  • Build strong partnerships across business and technology teams to align product priorities and maximize adoption and value delivery.  

  • Mentor and develop product leaders and team members to support organizational growth and execution excellence.  

  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, priorities, and business impact to executive leadership and stakeholders across the firm. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

 

Education and Experience 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.  

  • 15+ years of product management experience, including leadership experience overseeing enterprise platforms, analytics products, or AI/ML capabilities.  

  • Experience leading product strategy and execution for enterprise data, analytics, or AI-enabled products within complex or regulated environments.  

  • Experience delivering AI/ML-enabled products or data platform initiatives in production environments.  

  • Experience leading cross-functional product organizations and partnering across Product, Engineering, Data, and business teams.  

  • Experience in commercial real estate, financial services, lending, capital markets, or similarly regulated industries preferred. 

 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

 

  • Strong expertise in product strategy, roadmap development, prioritization, and product operating models across data, analytics, and AI/ML domains.  

  • Understanding of modern data platforms and architectures, including data warehouses, data lakes, semantic layers, and analytics ecosystems.  

  • Familiarity with AI/ML technologies, including generative AI, retrieval systems, and AI-assisted workflows.  

  • Understanding of governance, privacy, reliability, and risk considerations associated with enterprise data and AI-enabled products.  

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align technical and business teams around shared priorities.  

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value for non-technical audiences.  

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  

  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving, and highly collaborative environments.  

  • High degree of accountability, sound judgment, and strategic thinking. 

  • Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes 

  • Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders 

This position has an estimated base salary of $270,000 - $330,000 plus a discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
