Direct Reports: VP, Advertising, VP, Partner Relations
Collaborates with: Heads of Commercial, Content, Product, Operations, Marketing, Legal, and Finance and various other internal and partner departments

Role Overview

The Senior Vice President (SVP) is responsible for overseeing Sony Pictures Entertainment’s platform distribution business. The role includes managing FAST, VOD, and several other B2Band DTC business models. This position entails responsibility for P&L, daily operations, and delivery of results related to revenue, engagement, and user acquisition.

This is a pivotal leadership role in a rapidly evolving business that bridges entertainment, technology, and monetization. The SVP will bring an entrepreneurial mindset to launch, scale, and continuously evolve the streaming service, establishing it as a differentiated, profitable, and sustainable platform within the consumer services portfolio.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
  • Define and execute short- and long-term business strategies anticipating market, audience, and technology shifts.
  • Serve as principal business owner, aligning platform growth and profitability goals with executive leadership.
  • Champion Sony’s integrity and brand stewardship, ensuring alignment with consumer insights and studio priorities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and leadership development.
  • Navigate reputational, financial, and operational challenges in a complex, public-facing industry.
Revenue & Monetization Strategy
  • Lead the design and approval of monetization models across subscription, advertising, and hybrid tiers.
  • Explore device and third-party bundling opportunities to drive incremental value.
  • Optimize ad yield, pricing, and content economics to deliver strong revenue and operating income growth.
  • Partner with Finance to forecast, plan, and evaluate business performance across key P&L levers.
  • Collaborate with Product to drive growth in revenue and monetization.
  • Ensure achievement of revenue, ARPU, retention, and profitability goals.
Growth & Go-To-Market Execution
  • Finalize GTM strategy, including pricing, positioning, and promotional planning across DTC, B2B, and partner initiatives across corresponding teams
  • Oversee lifecycle marketing and retention efforts to improve customer LTV and reduce churn.
  • Lead cross-functional launch readiness and post-launch execution to ensure platform scalability and reliability.
Partnership & Commercial Leadership
  • Manage and grow key partnerships (e.g., Bravia, PlayStation, Sony ONE).
  • Align marketing, sales, finance, and product teams around unified commercial objectives.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships that drive scale, retention, and market share growth.
Operational & Data Excellence
  • Drive operational rigor, standardization, and governance across various business models.
  • Develop and oversee KPI frameworks and performance dashboards for B2B and DTC business areas.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making and actionable insights to optimize performance.
  • Anticipate and mitigate business, financial, and reputational risks.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years in media, streaming, or digital platform leadership, including 5+ years as GM or SVP with full P&L accountability.
  • Proven success launching and scaling digital or streaming services (FAST, AVOD, SVOD, or hybrid).
  • Deep understanding of ad-supported, subscription, and hybrid business models, including programmatic advertising and device ecosystems.
  • Strong command of forecasting, pricing, ROI optimization, and performance analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams across content, technology, marketing, and finance.
  • Skilled at executive-level communication, with credibility in presenting strategies, business cases, and results.
  • Entrepreneurial, analytical, and adaptable; thrives in both enterprise and growth-stage environments.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $282,404 to $330,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
