Job Description:
Carat is seeking an SVP, Communications Planning and Strategy that will be responsible for developing a high-performing team and providing guidance on client and media planning strategy. The SVP, Planning will oversee the entire planning process for their dedicated client groups and collaborates with trafficking, media operations and media buying teams to achieve client goals. This role is critical in enforcing and providing input into the overall media planning direction and overseeing the quality standards of the team's planning strategy and execution.
In this hybrid position, you will report to the EVP, Managing Director for a high-tech client. We are seeking a west-coast (PST)-based candidate.
Responsibilities:
- You will be accountable for outputs and the development of media planning team for assigned group of client(s) to improve campaign process to improve and achieve client goals
- Interpret research and provide insight and thought leadership that effectively translates brand marketing objectives into succinct media strategies
- Coach the team to develop planning strategies that maximize media dollars and media efficiency
- Increase employee retention by providing feedback to the Leadership and HR team
- Lead the strategic positioning, segmentation initiatives and in areas of holistic program planning and communications idea generation/execution
- Grow the sophistication of the team's media knowledge, expanding into data and technology
- Identify development areas in team members to help achieve and drive performance goals for the year
- Supports the media buying teams throughout campaign activation process to maintain performance and resolves any campaign-related issues
- Helps implement quality control processes across client groups
- Prepare reporting documentation for clients demonstrating the strategy and rationale executed to deliver on campaign goals
- You will participate and present in new business efforts
- Instills a data-driven, continuous improvement culture within a shared service organization
Qualifications:
- Minimum 12 years of media planning experience focused on all media channels
- Minimum 5 years working in a media agency environment, specifically on a comms planning or strategy team
- Minimum 5 years experience leading a team of direct reports
- Experience working on a global piece of business or account
- Experience planning across digital platforms
- Influential leader with ability to coach, develop and retain top talent
- Knowledge of bid management, campaign management and optimization process with key Data, Supply and DSP partners
- Experience working across a myriad of planning tools and technologies and research
- Previous experience with support new business efforts at the network or brand level
- Subject matter expert in developing media planning strategies that meet and exceed client campaign goals and objectives
- Advanced analytical skills and proficient with numbers and budgets to illustrate client business objectives
- Must be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders
Additional Information:
The annual salary range for this position is $163,000 - $263,350. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
