OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox Corporation

Under the FOX banner, we produce and distribute content through some of the world’s leading and most valued brands, including: FOX News Media, FOX Sports, FOX Entertainment, FOX Television Stations and Tubi Media Group. We empower a diverse range of creators to imagine and develop culturally significant content, while building an organization that thrives on creative ideas, operational expertise and strategic thinking.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The FOX direct-to-consumer (DTC) platform is a new, forward-looking initiative within Tubi Media Group that brings FOX’s unparalleled content portfolio—news, sports, and entertainment—directly to consumers via an innovative subscription streaming service.

Driven by a highly experienced leadership team with extensive backgrounds at the intersections of media, technology, streaming, and content—and built with the full support of Fox Corporation—this venture combines entrepreneurial energy with deep media and technology expertise.

Our vision is to create a unified, modern viewing experience that puts the consumer first—seamlessly integrating live and on-demand content across platforms.

At the intersection of cutting-edge technology and trusted storytelling, this is an opportunity to shape the future of streaming at one of the most pivotal moments in media. We’re assembling a world-class team to deliver on that vision—and we’re just getting started.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the SVP, Content Strategy & Planning you will lead the editorial and content partnership team for a next-generation direct-to-consumer streaming experience within FOX. You will collaborate with the internal content business units across News, Sports, and Entertainment to ensure that we are not only programming and personalizing the right content to our customers at the right time within the Fox One service, but also ensuring that we are adapting our content strategy to facilitate subscriber and engagement growth as the service matures.  This role will also own partnerships with any 1st and 3rd party content service providers (e.g. bundle partnerships).

This is a highly strategic and cross-functional leadership role focused on expanding content offerings, exploring new bundling models, and evolving beyond traditional linear feeds to meet the demands of a digitally native audience.

You will play a key role in shaping the platform’s editorial identity while fostering complex partnerships across the entertainment, sports, and news ecosystems. You will be expected to navigate a dynamic content landscape with a deep understanding of licensing models, live event programming, and premium content packaging.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Fox BU’s to inform the content acquisition strategy across sports, news, and entertainment verticals based on market and competitive trends, audience insights, and service performance to support Fox One’s growth and innovation goals

  • Manage the internal and external content partner relationships and ensure they have visibility into how their content is performing on the platform

  • Identify and evaluate new opportunities to grow the service through new content strategies and content types - e.g. bundling, video podcasts, etc.

  • Manage the editorial and programming team for content curation on the DTC platform, working closely with internal BU editorial teams and the product and marketing teams

  • Support internal DTC teams to address any content rights questions or issues for the service by working with internal content and legal teams

  • Shape monetization opportunities in conjunction with Business Development, Ad Sales, Business Affairs, and Distribution teams

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Deep leadership experience in content strategy, content acquisition, and programming/editorial within streaming, media, or digital platforms

  • Strong fluency in the evolving direct-to-consumer and OTT content landscape

  • Familiarity with bundling models, subscription services, and premium channel offerings in a DTC context

  • Expertise managing high-level internal stakeholders and external partnerships simultaneously

  • A nuanced understanding of how to bring live and on-demand content together in a unified user experience

  • Financial acumen and ability to analyze content performance and audience insights to drive programming decisions

  • Experience and comfort working in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a highly cross-functional and collaborative environment to accomplish the job

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Experience launching or scaling major digital video platforms or linear-to-digital transition strategies

  • Exposure to both traditional TV and emerging streaming ecosystems, with insight into rights management complexities

  • Experience securing and negotiating large-scale content rights deals, especially in sports and news

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
