Role Summary
The SVP CIO Finance & Risk Management Technology is accountable for defining and driving the overall technology strategy and delivery of MetLife's enterprise technologies across the Finance & Risk functions. This leader will own the relationship with Executive Leadership Team leaders and senior stakeholders, translating key objectives into scalable and innovative solutions. This leader will work with a cross-functional team managing the overall technology portfolio, reporting to the Enterprise Global Chief Information Officer.
The SVP CIO Finance & Risk Management Technology will drive key transformational initiatives including modernizing a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform and change initiatives supporting actuarial modeling, treasury management, finance reporting and risk analytics. The role is accountable for the execution of global corporate functions funded initiatives across all aspects of IT solution and project delivery, including project requirements and management, technical design, coding, unit testing, and implementation, ensuring the right processes, tools, and governance are in place for effectual, successful, secure, and high-quality delivery. Also undertakes efficiency and effectiveness assignments to achieve scale and re-use targets.
This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in financial systems, data architecture, governance and transformation leadership. They will provide subject matter expertise and seek external perspectives through strategic relationships with vendor partners, world-class consulting firms, and industry peers and infuses those perspectives and learnings to drive innovation in the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with key ELT executives and business leaders to define/refine the technology strategy and roadmap aligned to short- and long-term objectives for the Finance and Risk functions. Ensure that appropriate technology solutions are available to meet the needs of the business
- Lead the transformation of the legacy ERP platform to a modern, cloud-based financial system
- Oversee large-scale global implementation and integration across core Finance and risk platforms
- Drive global stakeholder engagement and alignment to develop commercial platform and products that drives a competitive advantage for MetLife; socialize this vision internally and ultimately deliver against the roadmap
- Identify and capture demand from the business stakeholders ensuring that the key IT components necessary to deliver the business priorities are identified and deliver on enterprise top programs
- Deliver technical capabilities that meet the requirements of all global corporate functions and drives continuous improvement across various aspects of the technology portfolio through the implementation of a robust set of monthly/quarterly metrics, governance, and automated tooling
- Foresee potential business disruptions caused by technology advancements and change
- Ensures technology solutions are constructed to incorporate MetLife Standards/Guidelines and best practices
- Ensures global architecture solutions comply with and drive reference architectures in concert with enterprise architecture
- Ensures technology solutions are constructed using secure coding practices and comply with IT Security standards in partnership with IT Risk
- Communicates technology investments including reporting to the lines of business and coordinating across finance, infrastructure & controllers
- Partners with the VMO and procurement in driving vendor/supplier contract optimization through contracts and by managing to contract SLAs to drive results
- Build a culture and high performing team focused on technical strength and a forward-looking consultative approach to drive continuous improvement and growth
Qualifications
- Five years serving as a seated CIO/CTO - Global progressive responsibility while interacting at the senior-most levels of an organization (i.e., board of directors, executive committee, etc.)
- Fifteen+ years of technology leadership experience - c ross-functional experience across application development and technology infrastructure preferred.
- Five years of experience in a regulated industry - f inancial services or insurance sector experience is preferred but not required.
- Global team leadership experience managing enterprise corporate systems and delivering next generation technology platforms - e xperience including full-time, contract, and vendor resources.
- Strong executive presence with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change and foster cross-culture collaboration
- Experience with core systems including Oracle Cloud ERP, Workday, etc
- Bachelor's degree is required; master's degree preferred. Preferably with concentration in computer science, engineering, or another technical field
