Job Description

POSITION : Support PROJECT MANAGER

LOCATION : THOUSAND OAKS, CA

DURATION : 6 Months

Description:

  • The Project Manager – Application Migrations for a Data Center Optimization project - is responsible for managing the activities required to move a group of applications.

  • This individual will oversee requirements management, application migration cycles, changes to schedules, documentation and testing activities supporting portfolio migrations.

  • Experience with software lifecycle management methodologies such as CMMI is helpful along with ITIL process knowledge.

  • The project manager will have significant day-to-day contact with the customer supporting all aspects of the application delivery.

  • Experience with customer interface for requirements elicitation, business analysis, management of software release deliveries, coordination of quality assurance for software releases and implementations and reporting of project and delivery status is required.

  • Experience with management of application development projects supporting high volume automated business processing workflows would be a significant advantage.

  • The project manager defines the migration deliverables, tracks milestones and incurred expenses versus planned expenses, schedules roles and resources, evaluates risks and recommends contingency plans.

  • Assists the Migration Tech Lead with the development and technical strategy of each Wave of the project.

  • Assigns resources and tasks, and manages quality assurance, resolution of issues, status reviews and reporting, development of standards, change control, customer support, and compliance with all policies and procedures.

  • Generally leads a group of technical resources and other IT technical staff, relying on experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Responsibilities: 

  • Excellent customer support and interpersonal skills

  • Possesses experience in the overall responsibility for structuring an application migration project

  • Possess a proven track record in managing application development lifecycle

  • Performs detailed planning, project execution management and completion of moderate or large projects.

  • Defines the phase deliverables

  • Tracks milestones and incurred expenses versus planned expenses

Skills: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Application lifecycle management experience

  • Working experience planning and organizing application development and maintenance activity

  • Five years’ experience overseeing application development projects

  • MS Office and MS Project experience

  • PMP Certification – highly desired

Communication: 

  • Excellent customer interface skills

  • Effective and adaptable team leadership

  • Innovative self-starter with excellent communication skills

  • Facilitate effective two-way communication with staff members and management

  • Document issue resolutions clearly and accurately

Qualifications

Degree: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area, preferably Computer Science or five years of equivalent experience.

  • Have relevant certifications for the skills/infrastructure/service area/domain, i.e. PMP certification.
