About the Role:

At Resident, we're on a mission to elevate our Supply Chain network to deliver an exceptional customer experience—reliably and efficiently. We're looking for a Supply Planning Manager to take ownership of our end-to-end supply planning process across both domestic and international products.

In this key leadership role, you'll drive production planning, align demand forecasts with manufacturing partners, and ensure seamless coordination with our fulfillment operations. You'll be at the center of our supply chain strategy, playing a critical role in optimizing performance and scaling for growth.

We're seeking a dynamic leader with strong analytical, planning, and communication skills—someone who thrives on solving complex problems, builds alignment across teams, and leads through influence. If you're passionate about operational excellence and ready to make a meaningful impact, we’d love to connect.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Own Production Planning & Execution by developing and executing production plans and purchase orders to maintain optimal inventory levels, maximize in-stock rates, and support new product introductions.
  • Govern Domestic Supply Operations as the key liaison to our domestic manufacturing partners, managing the day-to-day supply and production planning for the bedding category.
  • Drive Supplier Performance by working directly with domestic manufacturing partners to optimize production flexibility, shorten lead times, manage key component inventory, and hold them accountable for on-time delivery.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Alignment through clear and consistent communication with stakeholders in Demand Planning, Operations, Sales, and Finance regarding production status, shipment dates, and any risks or changes to the plan.
  • Develop Continuous Improvement Initiatives by analyzing supply chain data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and enhance the efficiency of planning and production processes.
  • Manage Supply Chain Risk & Resolution by utilizing strong problem-solving skills to resolve supply constraints, manage exceptions, and ensure business objectives are consistently met.
  • Collaborate on Network Optimization with sourcing and operations teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective flow of finished goods from our partners into our fulfillment network.
  • Leverage ERP & Planning Tools by utilizing  ERP systems to manage supply plans, purchase orders, and data reporting. Ensure data accuracy, troubleshoot discrepancies, and lead continuous improvement of planning processes.
  • Turn Data into Action with supply chain and production data to identify trends, assess risks, and propose actionable recommendations. Drive initiatives that enhance inventory health, service levels, and planning efficiency.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 5–7+ years of experience in supply planning or production planning, preferably in consumer products or manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and planning tools
  • Proven success in cross-functional roles involving operations, procurement, finance, and leadership stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into business recommendations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and driving performance improvements
  • Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
  • Exceptional experience with Looker or similar
  • Prior involvement in S&OP or IBP (Integrated Business Planning) processes
  • Experience in high-growth or omni-channel retail environments

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
