The Opportunity
This position works out of our Pleasanton, CA location in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
The Supplier Development Quality Engineer is responsible for activities related to material qualification, supplier performance and receiving inspection. Contributes to the development, establishment and maintenance of supplier quality engineering methodologies, systems and practices which meet company and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Work On
Upholds Division approval requirements to supplier and monitors feedback per project timelines
Analyzes incoming material defects
Communicates issues to suppliers
Generate test protocols, monitor testing, issue qualification test reports and approve components for use in products.
Owner of Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMERs) issued to supplier for nonconforming supplied material and works with the supplier on the investigation and root cause analysis
Notifies suppliers of customer complaints related to failures resulting from supplied material and requires investigation and corrective action.
Monitors supplier performance and reports supplier quality trend data.
Generates and maintains incoming inspection procedures. Trains inspectors to these procedures.
Responsible for generating and approving First Article Inspections
Leads projects with a cross-functional team for supplier requested changes or improvements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering
Preferred Qualifications
0-2 years of related work experience
Quality Assurance experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical, or other quality managed industries.
Working knowledge of applicable regulations, such as FDA QSR, ISO, MDD, &/or IVDD.
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.

The base pay for this position is
$72,100.00 – $114,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
