Job Summary:
Micron's Facilities Team is seeking a Facilities HVAC Operations Supervisor to ensure a safe, compliant, and ethical work environment. This role involves maintaining technical knowledge, supervising for compliance, and resolving potential issues. The Supervisor will oversee and improve area performance by managing staffing, prioritizing work, and ensuring communication and training on safety, legal, and work requirements. They will conduct performance appraisals to create goals and development plans for team members. Additionally, the Supervisor will promote teamwork by supporting, leading, and participating in department and area improvement projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership for mechanical and HVAC/R systems (including chiller plants, cleanroom HVAC/R, utilities, and general building systems) to support safe, reliable operations.
  • Maintain strong technical knowledge to actively operate equipment, make informed decisions, and drive continuous area and performance improvements.
  • Lead and hold the team accountable for shift/area performance, ensuring timely and thorough completion of PMs, work orders, and project assignments.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, certifications, and training requirements are maintained to support compliant, safe, and effective work execution.
  • Develop and enforce procedures and training that promote safety, quality, TPM, Facilities Discipline, and consistent work practices.
  • Monitor equipment performance, alarms, and defects; apply systematic problem-solving to resolve issues, improve stability, and eliminate chronic problems.
  • Identify, prioritize, and lead improvement and cost-reduction initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Foster a high-performing team culture through effective communication, collaboration, motivation, performance management, and continuous learning.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a technical, facilities, manufacturing, or military environment.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical systems, facilities maintenance, or related technical disciplines (industry, manufacturing, or military background acceptable).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (1+ year).
  • Ability to work onsite and outdoors as needed, with flexibility to work rotating 12-hour shifts (days/nights) and adjust schedules based on business needs.

Preferred:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a technical, facilities, manufacturing, or military environment.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical systems, facilities maintenance, or related technical disciplines (industry, manufacturing, or military background acceptable).
  • Valid HVAC/R license required, with demonstrated proficiency using mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
