The Role

Reporting to the Associate Director, Brand Media Strategy, the Supervisor will take the lead on developing strategic content and identifying insights that inform the overall media recommendation. This is a client-facing role working with both the clients as well as internal teams and external agency partners

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated media strategies and plans – translating brand and media objectives into holistic media strategies across Linear TV, CTV/Streaming, Digital, Social, OOH, and other emerging channels
  • Contribute to cross-channel budget strategy and allocation – recommending how investment should be distributed across channels, audiences, partners and key moments based on strategic priorities and business objectives
  • Support and contribute to client-facing strategic communication – present media strategies, recommendations, performance insights and investment rationale to clients and senior stakeholders
  • Identify cultural and marketplace opportunities – evaluate major sports, entertainment, cultural and tentpole moments to identify opportunities that strengthen brand relevance and reach priority audiences
  • Turn data into actionable strategy – analyze audience, competitive, marketplace, brand and campaign data to uncover insights and translate them into clear recommendations
  • Drive innovation and experimentation in media plans – identify new platforms, partnerships, targeting approaches, sponsorships, measurement solutions and emerging media opportunities for testing and potential scale
  • Have an intimate knowledge of the client’s brand and product details
  • Integration

  • Partner with media investment, analytics and creative teams – collaborate closely with multiple teams to translate overarching strategy into executable and measurable media plans while maintaining alignment with broader brand strategy
  • Manage workflow and ensure process procedures are followed and manage expectations accordingly
  • Oversee campaign measurement and optimization strategy – establish KPIs and measurement frameworks to evaluate campaign performance to determine what’s working, identify opportunities and inform future investment decisions
  • Manage & Mentor

  • Manage and develop junior strategy team members – providing strategic direction, reviewing deliverables, delegating workstreams all while coaching them and ensuring high-quality, client-ready output
  • Represent Canvas Worldwide professionally with clients and industry
  • Able to direct team and foster an environment for growth and learning while developing a positive culture
  • Ensure that deadlines are met, including managing expectations internally
  • Deliver accurate monthly budgets

Qualifications

    • 4-6 years of experience in Media Strategy or Planning
    • 1+ years mentoring and developing staff
    • High level proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office products
    • Knowledge of common planning and measurement tools (NMI, MRI, Comscore, EDO, VideoAmp)
    • Proven ability to drive projects from start to finish
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Possess a strong and proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with flexibility and communicate priorities to direct reports and managers
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to follow through
    • Extremely detail-oriented and precise
    • Proven ability to maintain strong internal, external, and client relationships
    • Be proactive - show interest in constantly learning and growing
    • Experience with media budget stewardship and billing
    • Experience planning media across TV, CTV, Social and Programmatic
    • Experience developing Video Upfront strategy and execution preferred
    • Tier 1 National auto experience preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • OPTIONAL: Travel Requirements:

    • Occasionally attend offsite meetings (in orange county) with travel throughout the assigned area. Travel 10-25% of the time.

Salary and Benefits
Actual base salary is determined upon factors such as experience, qualifications, training, certifications, and internal equity. The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Base salary is part of a total rewards package that includes highly competitive benefits like generous medical, dental, vision, pet insurance, commuter benefits, disability and life insurance coverage, 401(k) matching, up to 14 holidays per year, a “Do Good Day,” and unlimited PTO.

In-Office Work Schedule
This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 3 days in-office per week.
