Job Summary:

The Data Science intern will work within the Business Intelligence department and will collaborate with business operations teams to help drive efficiencies by identifying patterns, predicting outcomes, and providing actionable insights for our organization. To do this, they will collect, clean, model, and analyze data using machine learning, data engineering, and statistical analysis techniques.

Responsibilities: 

  • Support team by creating and maintaining data models that recommend prices and detect ticket scalpers
  • Understand and optimize existing models using statistical analysis and machine learning
  • Build data models that help solve high-impact business questions
  • Partner closely with the data science mentor to complete and present a final project
  • Assist in refining machine learning models, utilizing mathematical optimization for music recommendations and fraud detection
  • Proactively explore and identify innovative data science opportunities that drive business growth and enhance the company's strategic decision-making

Qualifications:

  • To be eligible for this internship you must be a current student pursuing an MS degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • You have prior experience from internships, work, or projects in a related field
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake is a plus
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and dependable, with excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning concepts and mathematical optimization, with a keen interest in applying these methods to solve practical business issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to learn more about the sports and entertainment industry
  • The AEG Internship Program requires a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week during the summer.

Pay Scale: $19.00-$21.00
