Project Manager – Substation
Location: Eden Prairie, MN | Hybrid | Remote
Schedule: Full-Time

Salary: $125,000 – $165,000 (based on experience)

We’re seeking a Project Manager – Substation to lead the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of substation design projects. This role blends technical leadership, client collaboration, and project management to drive high-quality results across multidisciplinary teams.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.

  • Oversee quality control, ensuring deliverables meet internal and client standards.

  • Coordinate across disciplines to maintain alignment on goals, deadlines, and design criteria.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients — ensuring timely, clear, and consistent communication.

  • Support proposal development, including scope, design criteria, and schedule input.

  • Lead project documentation efforts, maintaining organized and accurate project records.

  • Manage change orders, RFIs, and submittals, ensuring project documentation reflects current status.

  • Guide and mentor junior engineers, promoting collaboration and professional growth.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent field required.

  • Proven experience managing substation or related engineering projects from design through delivery.

  • Strong understanding of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other drafting or project tools.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and project management software such as Ajera and Monday.com.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Preferred Experience
  • Direct project leadership experience in power delivery, substation, or utility design environments.

  • Experience overseeing cross-discipline coordination between civil, structural, electrical, and protection & control teams.

  • Familiarity with client-facing project management, including budgeting, billing, and schedule tracking.
