Conducts protocol-driven Alzheimer’s disease clinical trial visits as a Sub-Investigator. Responsibilities include participant eligibility assessments, physical and neurological examinations, medical history reviews, IV placement, investigational medication infusions, safety monitoring, adverse-event reporting, and collaboration with Principal Investigators and research staff. The role requires an active California NP or PA-C license, infusion proficiency, experience with older adults, strong documentation, and compassionate communication. Prior pharmaceutical trial research experience is preferred but not required.

We are hiring a clinical investigator--either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)--to join our Healthy Brain Clinic / Long Beach team. The clinician will oversee and conduct clinical trials of some of the most promising drugs under investigation in Alzheimer's Disease treatment and prevention, driving clinical excellence at our growing Long Beach site.
Job Duties
- Clinical Trial Execution: Oversee and conduct protocol-driven clinical trial visits as a Sub-Investigator, ensuring strict adherence to FDA regulations, GCP guidelines, and study protocols.
- Participant Eligibility & Medical Oversight: Conduct physical and neurological examinations, medical history assessments, clinical intake evaluations, and diagnostic reviews to evaluate participant safety and study eligibility.
- IV Line Placement & Infusions: Directly insert peripheral IV lines, administer investigational intravenous medications, and manage participant care and monitoring throughout active infusion procedures.
- Participant Safety & Event Management: Monitor study participant safety throughout trial participation, managing and reporting adverse events in a thorough and timely manner.
- Collaborative Research Team: Partner closely with Principal Investigators, fellow Sub-Investigators, clinical research coordinators, and study raters to ensure quality trial delivery.
Job Requirements
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) in California.
- Clinical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency and hands-on skill in IV placement and intravenous infusions.
- Patient Population: Clinical experience working with older adult populations in a primary care, specialty, or clinical research environment.
- Research Experience: Prior experience as a Sub-Investigator or Clinical Research Coordinator in pharmaceutical industry trials is preferred, but not required.
- Communication & Precision: Professional command of written and spoken English, with strong clinical documentation skills and a compassionate patient-facing demeanor.
