Role Overview:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Space Sub-Editor with a passion for science communication to join our editorial team. In this role, you will write, edit, and help produce news and feature articles, as well as social media posts that make Space and Astronomy topics accessible and exciting for a broad digital audience.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
• Research and source daily news stories, features, and explainers related to Space Science, Astronomy, and astrophysics.
• Write, as well as edit, with the main focus on simplifying complex scientific content from research papers and press releases while maintaining accuracy and clarity.
• Collaborate with writers and senior editors to enhance the editorial quality of articles.
• Pitch, edit, and publish different formats of social media posts to ensure proper coverage of the latest news.
• Fact-check all material and ensure proper citations from credible journals and scientific institutions.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in the space industry, including missions, discoveries, and breakthroughs.
• Reach out to and interview subject matter experts to enrich content with original insights.

Requirements:
• 3-4 years of experience in science journalism, editing, or content writing with a focus on Space or Science topics.
• Strong grasp of grammar, scientific terminology, and digital storytelling techniques.
• Ability to interpret scientific studies and make them understandable to non-expert readers.
• Familiarity with CMS tools, SEO, Canva, digital publishing workflows and basic video editing tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Science Communication, or a related field.
• A keen interest in space exploration, astronomy, and science communication.
